Engineering Director (Source)

We are seeking a highly experienced and technical Engineering Director to lead our engineering teams and manage multiple teams within the Source engineering organization in India. This individual will be responsible for establishing a high-tech engineering culture, attracting and hiring top talent, providing full support to a business value stream, and developing team members. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building distributed cloud systems with high availability and scale and will be accountable for the entire product delivery. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Leadership and Management: 

• Lead and manage engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. 

• Establish and maintain a high-tech engineering culture, promoting innovation and continuous improvement. 

• Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent, reducing attrition and developing team members. 

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. 

• Lead and support cross-functional teams within a specific value stream by fostering close partnerships with business stakeholders. Champion the alignment of technical and domain-specific solutions with strategic objectives, ensuring timely delivery and a steadfast commitment to quality. Serve as a key liaison, driving collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

• Provide strategic leadership and mentorship by guiding team members in both technical and domain areas. Leverage coaching opportunities to foster professional growth, enhance individual capabilities, and elevate the overall skillset and performance of the team.

• Product Delivery: 

• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring high-quality and timely releases. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, to align objectives, priorities, and trade-offs. 

• Drive the execution and delivery of features by coordinating with multiple teams and stakeholders. 

• Drive high-quality, on-time product delivery by leveraging industry best practices and AI-driven solutions to meet client needs.

• Operate with a metrics-focused mindset to transparently report progress, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.

• Technical Expertise: 

• Provide technical guidance and direction for the development of distributed cloud systems with high availability and scale. 

• Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and introduce new technologies to improve products and drive innovation. 

• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of applications, systems, and integrations. 

• Actively contribute to the internal Architecture Review Board by evaluating proposed solutions and offering expert recommendations that promote scalability, long-term maintainability, and architectural integrity of the Source platform.

• Champion the integration of AI throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, advocating for its strategic adoption to accelerate delivery and elevate product quality.

• Operational Excellence: 

• Develop and implement metrics to measure performance, efficiency, and scalability of products and services. 

• Drive performance optimization initiatives using data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs). 

• Establish and maintain a comprehensive quality management system, ensuring the highest levels of quality in deliverables. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. 

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in leadership roles, with a strong track record of delivering enterprise-scale solutions and driving high-performing teams.

• Strong technical background with expertise in .Net, C#, Java, databases, AWS/Azure cloud, SaaS, Angular and/or React, and design and architectural patterns. 

• Experience in managing and leading globally distributed engineering teams in a highly agile/scrum environment. 

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 

• Proven ability to attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent. 

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions that contribute to the success of the product. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in Healthcare Technology and highly regulated industries. 

• Experience in building and managing distributed cloud systems with high availability and scale. 

• Demonstrated experience or certification in prompt engineering, particularly in the context of AI-assisted development.
