40The Director Education and Professional Development is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for Education and Professional Development. This includes establishing a vision for Monument Health’s education and professional development programs and strategies to produce positive outcomes for the organization. The Director collaborates with stakeholders across the system to ensure educational and professional development programs support and align with the organization’s strategic priorities. Demonstrates ongoing growth and development of self through active self-reflection, personal competency development strategies, and role modeling the “Grow myself, grow my team, and grow Monument Health (G3) Leadership Competencies” to promote our Monument Health vision and mission.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess and identify organizational education and professional development needs and prioritize resources appropriately, incorporating Monument Health’s mission, vision, and values in goals. Researches and analyzes organizational data, feedback, and industry trends to determine and prioritize education needs and determine methods and resources for addressing learning and performance. Incorporate the use of evidence-based practice and appreciative enquiry into program development and improvement activities.
  • Oversee complex integrated programs delivered through a wide variety of delivery methods to include classroom, eLearning, simulation, and other blended learning solutions such as live webinars, self-directed learning, and other educational resources, tools, and solutions. Creates a learning environment based on best practices in education.
  • Serve as education and professional development leader for organizational projects and initiatives. Seek opportunities to partner with stakeholders across organization and align organizational education to drive quality, consistency, and efficiency in the delivery of educational and professional development programs. Establish and maintain internal partnerships with subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate across the Human Resources functions to ensure connections on purpose and execution. Train, develop and grow a high functioning learning organization that will continue to drive innovation, engagement, and growth across the health system.
  • Serve as liaison, resource and consultant to academic partners, the community, outreach programs, and other healthcare organizations. Seek academic partnerships and provide oversight to educational internship programs.
  • Establish an annual operating and capital budget, demonstrating fiscal responsibility. Monitors and analyzes financial data for positive operational outcomes. Actively seeks opportunities to improve financial outcomes, engaging caregivers in the process.
  • Employ successful change management strategies to implement organizational improvements. Identify barriers to achieving outcomes and use innovative, analytical, and collaborative skills to implement improvement and solutions.
  • Demonstrate effective communication through active listening, effective facilitation, and clear concise articulation of data, information, and ideas. Creates an environment that encourages diverse opinions, recognizes differences, and incorporates into process and services.
  • Provide direct leadership for Education and Professional Development department and oversight for overall supervision of caregivers in department.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required
Education - Master's degree Education, Healthcare Administration, or Healthcare Related Field

Certification - Maintains active clinical licensure or clinical expertise in healthcare related field if applicable


Preferred
Experience - 3+ years of Management Experience; 3+ years of Education Trainer Experience

Scheduling Requirements: Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Physical Requirements: Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
