Director - Distribution Data Platform

The Opportunity
Lead the business strategy, operating model, and adoption of the Distribution Data Platform or Single Source of Truth (SSOT) capability supporting reporting, analytics, digital experiences, operational processes, and AI-enabled solutions.
This role is responsible for establishing business data standards, common definitions, canonical requirements, and source-of-truth expectations across Product, Advisor, Client, Contract, Relationship, Investment, and related data domains. The position will also build and lead the business support team responsible for sustaining the SSOT capability and driving adoption across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong business data management expertise with an understanding of information architecture, data modeling concepts, and enterprise data practices. While not a technical architecture role, the position requires the ability to partner effectively with Architecture, Engineering, Governance, and Analytics teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.

You will be a business data leader who can build organizational capability, align stakeholders around common data standards, and accelerate adoption of a trusted SSOT foundation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
DDP|SSOT Strategy & Leadership
- Define and evolve the SSOT vision, roadmap, operating model, and adoption strategy.
- Establish business data standards, common definitions, canonical requirements, and source-of-truth expectations across key data domains.
- Drive organizational alignment on how critical business data is defined, managed, and consumed.
DDP|SSOT Capability & Team Development
- Build and lead the business support organization for the SSOT capability.
- Establish team responsibilities, service offerings, intake processes, support models, and performance measures.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor professionals supporting data standards, business definitions, metadata, and stakeholder enablement.
Business Partnership & Adoption
- Serve as the primary business owner for SSOT standards and adoption.
- Partners with Technology, Architecture, Data Governance, MDM, Reporting, Analytics, and Operations teams to prioritize and implement business data requirements.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, communication, training, and adoption activities.
- Ensure SSOT standards are incorporated into strategic initiatives, data feeds, platforms, and business processes.
Data Standards & Canonical Requirements
- Define business requirements that support canonical data models and shared data structures.
- Provide business leadership on data definitions, entity relationships, hierarchies, metadata, and critical data elements.
- Review and validate proposed canonical structures to ensure alignment with business needs and source-of-truth objectives.
The Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data management, data governance, master data management, business data strategy, information management, or related disciplines.
- 3+ years of experience defining business data standards, ownership models, business definitions, or data governance practices.
- 3+ years of experience building and leading teams, programs, or business support capabilities.
The Ideal Qualifications
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, canonical data structures, metadata, lineage, data quality, and source-of-truth principles.
- Experience supporting SSOT, Customer 360, MDM, data standardization, or enterprise data transformation initiatives.
- Financial services, insurance, wealth management, or distribution experience.
- Experience with data governance, metadata, reporting, CRM, analytics, or MDM platforms.
- Experience leading large-scale change management and adoption efforts.
- CDMP, DCAM, CBAP, DGSP, or similar certifications.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders across business and technology organizations.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational leadership skills.
