Job Description

The Director, Digital Workplace, Identity & AI Enablement leads WME's global strategy for how employees access, collaborate, and stay secure — and for how the enterprise applies artificial intelligence to run IT itself. This is a newly created leadership role that consolidates endpoint engineering, messaging and collaboration, identity & access management (IAM), and AI enablement into a single pillar within the IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity organization. Beyond running the modern workplace, this leader is directly accountable for automating IT operations and processes through AI and for the responsible enablement of AI end-user technology across the company. Reporting to the VP, Head of IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity, the Director owns the multi-year roadmap, leads a globally distributed team, and partners closely with Cybersecurity, Service Delivery, Technology Governance, and the business to deliver a frictionless, secure, and AI-ready employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Driven IT Automation

· Own the strategy and delivery for automating IT operations and processes using AI — from ticket triage and resolution to provisioning, monitoring, patching, and self-healing workflows.

· Identify high-value automation opportunities across the IT organization, build the business case, and measure results in efficiency, cost, and service quality.

· Design and govern AI agents, copilots, and workflow automation integrated with the IT service management platform and infrastructure tooling.

AI End-User Enablement

· Lead the responsible rollout, governance, and adoption of AI end-user technology (e.g., Microsoft Copilot and AI-assisted productivity tools) across the enterprise.

· Define adoption strategy, training, and change management to drive real productivity gains from AI in the workplace.

· Partner with Technology Governance and Cybersecurity to establish AI guardrails, data-protection controls, acceptable-use standards, and adoption metrics.

Digital Workplace & Endpoint

· Own the strategy, standards, and roadmap for the Microsoft 365 workplace, Windows and macOS endpoint management (MDM/UEM), device lifecycle, and virtual desktop where applicable.

· Drive a consistent, high-quality employee experience across a global, multi-office footprint, balancing productivity, cost, and security.

· Establish engineering standards, automation, and self-service to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.

Messaging & Collaboration

· Lead the roadmap for enterprise messaging (Exchange Online / O365), Microsoft Teams, and collaboration platforms, ensuring reliability, compliance, and a seamless user experience.

· Partner with Collaboration Technology to align conferencing, content, and communication tooling with business needs.

Identity & Access Management

· Own enterprise identity strategy and operations — single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

· Mature identity governance and the joiner–mover–leaver (JML) lifecycle, access certifications, and least-privilege access, in close partnership with Cybersecurity; advance the organization's Zero Trust posture.

Leadership, Strategy & Vendor Management

· Build, lead, mentor, and develop a globally distributed team of engineers across the US, UK, and APAC.

· Own the budget and cost of personnel (COP) for the pillar; forecast, prioritize, and manage spend against approved plans.

· Manage strategic vendor relationships (Microsoft and managed-service partners), including contracts, SLAs, and roadmaps, and ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

· 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years leading engineering or infrastructure teams.

· Demonstrated experience applying AI/automation to IT operations — AIOps, intelligent automation, AI agents/copilots, or workflow automation — with measurable business impact.

· Deep, hands-on expertise across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, endpoint management (Intune/MDM), and enterprise identity (Entra ID / Azure AD, SSO, MFA, conditional access).

· Experience leading enterprise AI end-user enablement (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) including governance, adoption, and change management.

· Proven success leading globally distributed teams and delivering enterprise-scale workplace programs; experience owning a budget and managing vendor/partner relationships.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner across Security, Service Delivery, Governance, and business stakeholders.

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in entertainment, media, sports, or a fast-paced agency environment.

· Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft SC-300 Identity & Access Administrator, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator, AI-900/AI-102, ITIL, or security certifications).

· Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture, modern workplace AI governance, and responsible-AI frameworks.

· Experience supporting M&A integration and organizational change (relevant to WME's group environment).

Leadership Competencies

· AI-forward — sees AI as a core operating capability, not a side project, and drives measurable adoption.

· Strategic & roadmap-driven — connects workplace, identity, and AI investments to business outcomes.

· Security-minded — treats identity, endpoint, and AI governance as first-line controls.

· Collaborative — builds strong partnerships across a matrixed, global technology organization.

· Operationally disciplined — delivers on budget, on plan, with measurable service quality.
