Condé Nast global digital video teams create premium video content showcasing Condé Nast’siconic global brands. Delivering on average over 1 billion video views per month, the team currentlyproduces 4,000+ digital videos per year in all genres including non-scripted, documentary, how-to,comedy, animation, scripted, branded, virtual reality and (live) event programming.
We are looking for an editorial, social, and creative development lead to drive the continued growthof Condé Nast’s leading digital video and audio business, a primary function in our centers ofexcellence.
As Director, Development (Social Content & Creator Partnerships) you will be the strategic andcreative partner in growing and strategizing around our off-platform content ecosystem, withparticipation across all brands around the strategy, creative vision, execution, and growth acrossvideo, social and emerging platforms. This role is based in New York and reports to the VP, CentralDevelopment & Production.
The purpose of this role is to work with Editorial teams on creating and piloting new reactive socialcontent, social original franchises as well as lead a central team developing series and creativebriefs for in-house talent, contributors and creator partners.
Primary Responsibilities
● Support and help define our title’s off-platform content strategy, including the Video, SocialProgramming and Strategy across all platforms (Youtube, TikTok, Instagram/Meta, Pinterest,O&O, Facebook)
● Partner with The Talent Group and Central CN Casting to identify external talent, generatecreative briefs for Creator partners and help shape the roster of creator partners in targettitles.
● Support brand video teams in development of creator partnership social originals content,including leading brainstorms, pitching new concepts, and contributing to overall distributionstrategy
● Produce, Shoot, Edit and Post as needed on social to support the titles as well as lead fromdevelopment to distribution any social originals or creator partnership content they generatethrough central development.
● Provide oversight of creative, visual, and editorial standards that protect and evolve ourbrands for the changing landscape of social, creator partnerships and new off-platformdistribution channels.
● Work with Editorial and Audience Development teams to align with cultural calendars andeditorial initiatives to drive audience growth.
● Engage with Global Central Organizations (Video, Planning, Optimization, Strategy) to pullinsights, data and direction to inform programming strategy to drive both audience growthand revenue.
● Identify and execute revenue-generating opportunities in partnership with Commercial andConsumer teams
● Maintain accountability for efficient resource deployment
● Partner with the Audio and Podcast team to support the growth of the podcasts across theCN portfolio
● Provide leadership in the expansion of Social Studios, creatively, to share best practicesacross Global Markets.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
● 5+ Years in Video Content Creation, spanning experience in both editorial and commercial
● A deep background in social video and audience building on social platforms
● A strong personal profile in social media to help drive authority and authenticity in contentcreation
● 5+ Years Managing a creative team
● Experience in multi-platform storytelling, covering mediums across digital platforms tocapture audiences across networks
● A strong entrepreneurial background in building brands, identity or business from the groundup, either as a leader or part of a core founding team
● Experience in managing a production budget, deploying funds for projects and actualizingprojects to support in management of a P&L
● Patience and Confidence when working in a matrixed organization to achieve both personaland company goals.
The expected base salary range for this position is from $ 114,000 - $138,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
