Job Description

As a senior member of the data team, you will be responsible for guiding the design, development, deployment, and administration of information storage, organization and retrieval systems for analytic purposes using a combination of modern relational databases, big data and cloud technologies. As an experienced data architect and information integrator, you will architect, build, and manage data integration and ETL processes, develop high-performing solutions using modern design principles, address data quality issues, and support day-to-day production inquiries and questions from users and other technology groups. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will manage and execute critical technology projects, drive innovation, and guide internal and external engineering teams to prototype and launch data-enabled capabilities and service offerings, providing thought leadership along with significant personal contributions. of Responsibilities:

  • Manage data operations and engage with support teams to ensure high quality and reliable data services.
  • Develop best practices around data SDLC release management processes and environment management that are compliant with relevant practices and regulations
  • Provide leadership and vision for Fortrea’s data architecture, data integration and master data management strategies.
  • Lead the design and development of high-performing, scalable and maintainable data repositories for analytic purposes.
  • Establish and contribute to formal standards, policies and processes regarding data architecture and data governance.
  • Develop reusable frameworks and scalable approaches for evolving data architecture and integration needs.
  • Lead engineering teams and participate in the full development cycle from product inception, research and prototyping to release in production.
  • Evaluate and lead adoption of state-of-the-art data management technologies and services that offer competitive advantage to the business.
  • Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality, scalable data products.
  • Build and supervise external development partnerships.
  • And all other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • BS/MS in computer science, information systems, life sciences, or similar.
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • 5+ years of experience in leading development and implementation of data integration patterns and solutions in business environment.
  • 10+ years of expertise in designing relational and dimensional database models
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Expert knowledge of query performance tuning.
  • Expert knowledge of ETL and master data management approaches, tools, and design patterns.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing high performing teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong written and verbal presentation.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Experience in pharmaceutical R and D, clinical development and/or healthcare IT, and working knowledge of clinical trial systems and terminologies
  • Programming skills in Python
  • Knowledge of Azure Integration Services, API management, Service Bus, Logic apps
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Fabric

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Occasional travel required.
  • Occasional weekend and evening hours required
