About Orion Digital

Orion Digital is a publicly listed company (NASDAQ & TSX) building a multi-engine financial platform spanning lending, payments (Carta), and wealth (Intelligent Investing).

The company is evolving toward a more integrated, data-driven platform where decisioning systems, capital allocation, and risk management are central to how value is created.

AI is being incorporated as an enabling layer across the platform, supporting more real-time, data-driven decisioning across products.

About the Role

As Director, Credit Risk Modeling & Analytics, you will build and operate the systems that power credit decisioning.

You are responsible for how risk is modeled, measured, and executed in production systems. This role sits at the core of how credit strategy is translated into real-world outcomes.

You will work closely with the Head of Credit Risk and leadership team, with direct exposure to how portfolio decisions are made and how capital is deployed.

This is a hands-on role focused on building, implementing, and improving real-world systems, not just producing analysis.

Why This Role Matters

  • You are building the decisioning infrastructure that directly impacts portfolio performance and capital outcomes
  • Your systems determine how underwriting decisions are executed at scale
  • You will work closely with the Head of Credit Risk and CFO on portfolio performance and decision-making
  • Opportunity to build a modern, data-driven risk system leveraging signals across lending, payments, and wealth
  • A chance to move beyond static models into real-time, adaptive decisioning systems
  • Direct contribution to long-term value creation through improved risk performance

What You’ll Own

  • Development and evolution of credit risk models and predictive frameworks
  • Portfolio analytics, cohort analysis, and performance measurement
  • Experimentation frameworks to test and improve underwriting performance
  • Implementation and maintenance of decision logic within production systems
  • Analytics infrastructure, including dashboards and reporting systems
  • Data pipelines and systems supporting risk decisioning
  • Execution of credit policies within systems to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Leadership of a small analytics and decisioning team
  • Continuous improvement of tooling, automation, and scalability
  • Development of decisioning systems that can extend across multiple product lines

What You Bring

  • 7–12 years of experience in credit risk, modeling, or analytics
  • Strong foundation in statistical modeling and data analysis
  • Experience working with real-world portfolios and production systems
  • Proven ability to build and scale modeling, analytics, and decisioning systems
  • Strong technical skills (SQL, Python, data platforms)
  • Ability to translate strategy and analysis into production execution
  • Builder mindset with a focus on systems, not just models
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of implementation quality
  • Interest in applying decisioning frameworks beyond lending over time
  • Strong communication across technical and business stakeholders
  • Comfort operating in a lean, high-accountability environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $140,000 – $180,000 CAD
  • Performance-based bonus
  • Meaningful equity participation tied to long-term value creation
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible vacation and remote-first work environment

Final Note

This role is designed for someone who wants to own how decisions are built and executed in real systems, and directly influence how risk translates into portfolio performance and capital outcomes.

Benefits of working with us:

  • Fully Remote Work - Unless otherwise specified in the job posting, Orion offers flexible remote work, supported by the tools and resources needed to succeed.
  • Comprehensive Health Benefits - Access to medical, dental, and vision coverage plus a Health Spending Account
  • Stock Options - Meaningful equity participation aligned with long-term value creation and company growth
  • Flex Vacation - Benefit from paid time off, including vacation and personal days
  • Wellbeing Programs - Access counselling services, mental health support, and additional wellness resources
