DIRECTOR, CORPORATE SERVICES

Grade Level: Executive Management

Salary: ₦1,500,000 – ₦2,000,000 Net per Month

Minimum Experience: 17 Years and Above

ROLE SUMMARY

The Director, Corporate Services will provide strategic leadership and enterprise-wide oversight across the organisation's corporate support functions, ensuring that Human Capital, Administration, Finance, ICT, Facilities, Security, Corporate Communications, Risk Management and Business Continuity operate efficiently and support the organisation's strategic and commercial objectives.

The role will be responsible for strengthening corporate governance, improving operational efficiency, optimising resources and building robust systems that support sustainable growth across the organisation's construction, engineering and real estate operations.

The successful candidate must be a highly experienced executive with strong commercial and operational acumen, excellent leadership capability and a proven track record of managing diverse corporate functions within a structured and growth-oriented organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Leadership & Corporate Governance

  • Provide strategic leadership across all Corporate Services functions.
  • Develop and implement corporate strategies, policies, systems and operating frameworks aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Establish clear accountability, performance expectations and reporting structures.
  • Monitor departmental performance, operational risks, compliance and service delivery.
  • Provide Executive Management with timely management reports, business insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure effective corporate governance and implementation of approved policies.

Key Performance Targets:

  • Departmental plans aligned with Group strategy – 100%
  • Departmental performance reviews – Monthly
  • Management reports submitted as scheduled – 100%
  • Critical risks escalated – Within 24 hours

2. Human Capital & Administrative Management

  • Provide strategic oversight of workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, employee development and retention.
  • Ensure effective implementation of HR policies and procedures across corporate and project-based operations.
  • Drive employee engagement, accountability, productivity and a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee administration, logistics, records management and general office support.
  • Ensure effective workforce coordination across construction sites, engineering projects, property operations and corporate offices.

Key Performance Targets:

  • Performance appraisal completion – 100%
  • Critical vacancies addressed within approved timelines – 90%
  • HR policy and regulatory compliance – 100%
  • Employee retention – 90% or approved organisational target
  • Administrative service delivery – 95%

3. Financial Management & Resource Optimisation

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation and cost management in collaboration with Finance.
  • Monitor expenditure across corporate and operational activities against approved budgets.
  • Identify and implement cost optimisation and resource efficiency initiatives.
  • Provide Management with insights on financial risks, cost drivers and resource requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to approved financial controls and procurement processes.
  • Support Management in improving project and operational profitability.

Key Performance Targets:

  • Budget preparation and submission – 100% on schedule
  • Expenditure within approved budgets – 95%
  • Cost optimisation initiatives – Minimum 3 annually
  • Critical financial risks escalated – Within 24 hours

4. ICT, Digital Transformation & Corporate Communications

  • Provide strategic oversight of ICT infrastructure, business systems and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Drive automation and integration of corporate and operational processes.
  • Ensure effective technology solutions support project management, property operations and corporate functions.
  • Oversee cybersecurity, information security, data protection and access controls.
  • Ensure effective internal communication and corporate communication platforms.
  • Manage ICT service providers and ensure agreed service standards are achieved.

Key Performance Targets:

  • Approved digital initiatives delivered – 90%
  • Critical system availability – 95%
  • Information security controls implemented – 100%
  • Critical ICT incidents escalated – Within 1 hour
  • ICT service performance reviewed – Monthly

5. Facilities, Assets, Security & Business Continuity

  • Provide strategic oversight of corporate facilities, construction-related offices, project locations and other operational premises.
  • Oversee maintenance, asset management, physical security and workplace safety coordination.
  • Ensure accurate asset records and effective utilisation of organisational assets.
  • Identify and mitigate facility, security and operational risks.
  • Establish and maintain business continuity and contingency plans.
  • Ensure critical operational disruptions are promptly escalated and managed.

Key Performance Targets:

  • Preventive maintenance compliance – 95%
  • Asset register accuracy – 100%
  • Critical security/facility issues escalated – Within 24 hours
  • Major preventable security incidents – Zero tolerance

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Economics, Human Resources, Engineering, Estate Management, Information Technology, Public Administration or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree (M.Sc., MBA, MPA or equivalent) is required.
  • Relevant professional certification(s) will be an added advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 17 years' progressive professional experience.
  • Proven experience in senior management or executive leadership within Corporate Services, Operations, Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Construction, Engineering, Real Estate or a related sector.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple corporate support functions within a structured organisation.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing corporate strategies, policies, systems and governance frameworks.
  • Strong experience in resource optimisation, operational efficiency, risk management and organisational performance.
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects, multiple business locations or project-based operations will be an advantage.
  • Experience working with Executive Management, Boards, regulators, contractors, consultants and other senior stakeholders is preferred.
