Labcorp is seeking a Director, Core Automated Testing to join our team in Indianapolis, IN!

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift

Job Responsibilities:

Managerial and Leadership duties and responsibilities:

• Provides managerial leadership to the local departments staff.

• Manages all day-to-day delivery of testing services of the local departments.

• Responsible for driving overall performance and delivery of on time services for the local departments.

• Responsible for meeting established quality measures and on-time responses to quality issues (QTM, PT, QCSR, etc.) as required

• Communicates the goals and strategy of CLS, to the different departments.

• Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction.

Performance Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Responsible for the quality performance of all local technical services associated with

• Ensures quality and timely delivery of both production and non-production activities.

• Monitors and reports performance and results against targets and global standards.

• Ensures regulatory compliance within the local departments.

• Coordinates departmental activities in support of other functional areas and with Global Laboratory Support and Expended Services.

• Communicates to all department staff production and non-production standards.

• Assists Director in the establishment of globally consistent production standards.

• Ensures on-time delivery of performance reports (PT, QC/PM, Internal and External QC) and responses to inquiries from other functional areas.

• Responsible for meeting established quality measures and on time responses to quality issues (QTM, PT, QCSR, etc.).

• Participates in client visits, audits and inquiries; ensures complete fulfillment of requests and audit findings.

• Supports Six Sigma and other process improvement initiatives.

• Monitors and manages the local application of global processes and performance metrics.

• Evaluates processes to detect adverse trends; provides corrective measures as needed.

• Ensures the timely and efficient scheduling and execution of all local support activities essential to the Departmental Operations.

Personnel:

• Recruits, trains, develops and retains sufficient senior management personnel for the effective oversight of the department operations.

• Ensures that excellent management and supervisory personnel are available to oversee operations of the departments you are responsible for.

• Monitor volume trends and converts volume forecasts into specific personnel resource needs working with the Senior Director Operations to secure necessary and appropriate personnel is available in a timely manner.

• Ensures an adequate level of appropriately trained staff is available and effectively assigned to meet the production and non-production requirements of the departments

• Evaluates personnel performance with the support of appropriate managers/supervisors.

Essential External Client-related Job Duties:

• Ensures client satisfaction through excellent relationship management, testing quality and timely contractual execution.

• Ensures on time delivery of new test validations to meet client expectations and Labcorp Drug Development commitments.

• Facilities communications between the local department units and counterparts at other sites, and with other functional areas including CTMS, Sales and Marketing.

• Supports marketing and sales as needed in their efforts to meet specific client requests for testing services.

Essential Regional Job Duties (if relevant):

• Supports Global Directors in region, ensuring deployment of an uniform Global strategy within the sites

• Be the primary point of contact for the discipline in region

• Harmonizes processes and practices within the different sites, keeping in mind site specificities

• Ensures bringing “Strategic Validations” for the discipline in region

• Reviews and follows up all applicable metrics for the discipline at regional level (TAT, volume, OTs…)

• Follows and investigates carefully the CAP and other PTs outliers, near misses as well as internal and external, CAP and ISO audit findings (e.g: ensuring consistency in responses and corrective actions between sites)

• Gives your insight to local managers for End-Year PMD review and oversees training plan in conjunction with local managers.

• Communicates the goals and strategy of CLS, to the different departments.

• Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or biologic, chemical, or physical science.

  • Six years or more years of experience in a Laboratory environment

  • Four years or more of management experience in a clinical laboratory environment.

  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory environment including but limited to automation, system software, Microsoft applications, statistics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree of Arts or science degree in a biological, chemical, or physical science and subsequent to graduation has had at least two years of postbaccalaureate pertinent laboratory experience and training equivalent to that of an ASCP certified medical technologist, of which not less than two years have been spent working in the designated specialty in a clinical laboratory having a director at the doctoral level

  • Effective communication skills with technical staff, business development staff, peers and clients.

  • Attention to detail and interpretation of scientific data.

  • Demonstrated problem prevention

  • Fluent in English; command of French is a plus.

  • Computer literate.

  • Work is generally performed in a laboratory environment.

  • Exposure to blood borne pathogens.

  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.

  • Weekend work and bank holidays as required.

  • Immunization and screening might be required as per country regulations

  • 5% travel

The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
