What is the Opportunity?
The Arctic Over the Horizon Radar Project is a major federal initiative led by Canada’s Department of National Defence, playing a critical role in strengthening national and continental defence. "The project includes significant on-site and off-site material movement activities, extensive earthworks, deep and shallow foundation construction, structural concrete works, and the delivery of multiple buildings and supporting infrastructure."
As part of this program, Aecon’s Civil team is advancing Canada’s infrastructure through a strategic partnership with Pomerleau and Stantec. Delivered through a collaborative Integrated Project Delivery model, this project team is contributing to the design and construction of innovative infrastructure that will support one of the most advanced radar systems in North America.

Purpose of the Position:
Aecon is seeking an expe riencedConstruction Director to lead the planning and execution of a landmark heavy civil infrastructure project in Ontario's picturesque Cottage Country, including the Kawartha Lakes and Barrie regions. Reporting directly to the Project Director this senior leadership role is responsible for driving all pre-construction and execution activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The Construction Director will provide overall leadership for site operations, including direct-hire and subcontractor management, construction planning, safety performance, quality control, and execution excellence.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile project from early planning through completion while leading large, multidisciplinary construction teams and delivering lasting infrastructure that will make a meaningful impact on the region.
