Job Description

The Director of Admission Marketing and Communication serves as the lead architect on all marketing and communication initiatives aimed at promoting Tulane to prospective students, families, and counselors. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Admission for Undergraduate Programs and in close consultation with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Dean of Admission, the Director will execute a strategic marketing and communication unit designed to fuel undergraduate enrollment and position Tulane as one of the most influential universities in the world.

Founded as medical school in 1884, Tulane has risen to become one of the most selective universities in the United States. With its stunning campus in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans, its location in one of the most iconic cities in the world, an intimate undergraduate college with five thriving undergraduate schools, and a wildly successful Division 1 athletic program, the Director has an opportunity to build a comprehensive marketing and communication program at a place that already enjoys enviable brand recognition.

The Director will direct a team of professional staff members (and collaborate with a larger team of admission officers) to strengthen the university’s brand in direct alignment with Tulane’s centralized University Communication and Marketing unit. With a clear focus on undergraduate admission enrollment goals, the Director will direct all marketing and communication aspects associated with the enrollment funnel and student life cycle. More specifically, the Director will lead a comprehensive suite of initiatives aimed at increasing undergraduate student demand at Tulane, including the development and execution of all experiential, digital and print marketing campaigns. The Director will also partner with the VP, AVP, the Director of Admission Recruitment & Selection, and the Director of International Admission to build a successful student lead generation program aimed at maximizing brand awareness and fueling the enrollment funnel/student life cycle.

The Director is expected to be a compelling storyteller, brand ambassador, and overall champion of Tulane University and the city of New Orleans. The University is especially proud of its Louisiana Promise and Louisiana Center for College Access and as a result, the Director will play a key role in supporting both. The Director will be a senior member of the Undergraduate Admission leadership team and will work collaboratively across campus – especially with deans, school officials, and University Communication and Marketing personnel.
