The Commercial Customer Group is seeking a Director to lead and implement our Commercial strategy within the Plains Region of the US. The Director will play a key role in influencing strategic direction, driving growth, and developing talent in a collaborative, customer-focused environment!

Must reside in or have a willingness to relocate to the Twin Cities, Kansas City, or Des Moines metropolitan areas.

The Plains Region is a hotbed for large capital project exposure and represents one of our most dynamic and promising markets. We are seeking an exceptional Director of Commercial to spearhead the commercial strategy for this top-performing region.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Commercial, you will be the central force driving alignment and execution across five distinct areas, shaping the future of our commercial success in a complex, multi-market environment. Partnering with our General Managers and Regional Vice President, you will have the autonomy and influence to translate our national vision into explosive regional growth, directly impacting our bottom line and market leadership.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

  • Spearhead Growth: Champion the alignment and execution of innovative commercial strategies to drive over-market growth, expand margins, and capture a greater share of wallet.
  • Lead Through Influence: Serve as the primary commercial leader, partnering with General Managers and the Regional Vice President to elevate commercial performance across all five areas of the region.
  • Be the Strategic Link: Translate national commercial strategies and capabilities into powerful, effective regional and local execution plans that deliver results.
  • Develop Elite Talent: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of commercial customer group leaders, building a pipeline of future stars and scaling our high-performing culture.
  • Shape the Future: Play a pivotal role in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range business planning to ensure disciplined and impactful commercial execution.
  • Build Winning Partnerships: Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and customers that enhance value and drive operational excellence.
  • Champion Consistency: Ensure the flawless application of company policies and operating standards that underpin our growth and legendary customer satisfaction.

  • You have built a best-in-class commercial team, strengthening our talent pipeline and capability across the entire Plains Region.

Preferred Qualifications & Capabilities

  • 10+ years of relevant commercial, sales, or industry leadership experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of multi-site, regional, or multi-unit leadership experience preferred.
  • Strategic Commercial Leadership: A proven track record of leading regional or multi-market strategies that deliver explosive growth and market share.
  • Master of Influence & Partnership: Demonstrated success in a matrixed environment, partnering with senior leaders across sales, operations, and supply chain to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Inspirational Leadership: A natural ability to align diverse teams and stakeholders toward a shared vision, with or without direct authority.
  • Change & Communication: A world-class communicator who can inspire rapid adoption of new strategies and capabilities.
  • Talent Architect: A passion for building, coaching, and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Customer-Obsessed: Deep commercial acumen with an unwavering focus on creating long-term, value-driven customer partnerships.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.

Pay Range:

$8,939.03 - $19,616.63

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
