A Day in the Life

The Director, Channel Transformation will lead the design and execution of future-ready commercial channel strategies across the region. This role is accountable for transforming distributor-led markets into scalable, competitive, and agile commercial models, including leading go-direct (distributor-to-direct) transitions in priority countries. The position requires a strong combination of commercial acumen, transformation leadership, and structured program execution, along with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across markets and functions to drive alignment and decision-making in complex environments.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

1. Channel Strategy & Transformation

  • Define and execute regional channel transformation strategy aligned with growth priorities
  • Identify opportunities to evolve distributor, hybrid, and direct models into future-fit, scalable structures
  • Develop country-specific transformation roadmaps, including milestones, value targets, and risk mitigation

2. Go-Direct Program Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end execution of go-direct initiatives across selected markets
  • Build robust business cases covering financial, legal, regulatory, and operational dimensions
  • Orchestrate cross-functional delivery (Commercial, Finance, HR, Legal, Supply Chain)
  • Ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption to revenue, customers, and operations

3. Strategic Deal & Account Enablement

  • Support complex strategic deals and account transitions linked to channel changes
  • Partner with commercial leaders to ensure continuity of customer relationships through transformations
  • Embed customer-centric thinking in all channel decisions

4. Stakeholder Management & Influence

  • Influence and align senior regional and global stakeholders (VPs, GMs, Functional Heads) on transformation priorities
  • Navigate high-stakes, high-resistance environments, particularly in distributor exit or restructuring scenarios
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on channel strategy, trade-offs, and execution risks
  • Drive decision-making clarity in complex, matrixed environments

5. Program & Change Leadership

  • Establish strong governance frameworks for transformation programs
  • Monitor execution progress, risks, and value realization across markets
  • Lead change management efforts, including communication, adoption, and capability building
  • Ensure alignment of people, structure, and processes to sustain new channel models

Key Requirements:

  • 10–15+ years of experience in commercial strategy, transformation, or market operations
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation or go-direct programs across multiple countries
  • Experience in multi-market / emerging markets environments with high complexity
  • Background in medtech, pharma, FMCG, or similarly regulated industries preferred
  • Strong business and financial acumen with ability to build and challenge business cases
  • Outstanding project/program management skills with disciplined execution
  • Exceptional stakeholder influencing and negotiation skills at senior levels
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
  • Strong cross-functional leadership without direct authority
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution mindset
  • High resilience and ability to manage organizational resistance and complexity
  • Collaborative and culturally aware, with experience working across diverse markets
  • Focused on impact, scalability, and sustainability of solutions
