Position responsible for directing the operational complexities and clinical aspects for cardiology services including full financial, operational, and clinical components, providing input into strategic planning, developing and implementing tactical plans, and assessing and directing the allocation of resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing or Bachelors degree in health-related field with certification/registration in cardiology-related discipline or Masters degree in Healthcare Administration
Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Five (5) years Cardiovascular and/or Respiratory/Pulmonary management experience
Demonstrated managerial/leadership skills including a facility for conceptual thinking, peer motivation, and problem solving; excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Principal Accountabilities
Establishes, participates, and supports performance improvement initiatives; ensures the establishment of appropriate standards of care that comply with the hospital’s performance improvement plans and safety program.
Identifies opportunities to improve patient service and resolves problems; maintains a high reputation for the hospital.
Ensures operations meet or exceed projected expenses and revenues; continually seeks methods to better utilize staff and reduce controllable expenses, taking corrective action to address negative variances; organizes and executes the plan for capital expenditures.
Remains visible and available to physicians, seeking input and feedback on hospital matters, especially planning of services; serves as liaison between staff and physicians in matters concerning strategic planning, hospital and medical staff by-laws, policy and procedure changes, etc.
Selects, evaluates, counsels and terminates staff appropriately, maintaining related records; ensures the development and execution of plans for staff recruitment, retention and continuing education; maintains acceptable turnover rate and good staff morale, treating staff fairly and seeking appropriate input.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
