
Director, Card Risk Strategic Projects
As a Risk Management Director on the Chief of Staff Strategic Projects team, you will serve as a force multiplier for our executive leadership team. You will drive high-priority strategic projects, shape the workforce strategy, and develop executive-ready communications and presentations. You will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You’ll have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to business challenges.

The members of the Card Risk organization serve as strategic advisors to the lines of business - helping them to remain well-managed and supporting their continued growth, innovation, and success.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership: Serve as a primary thought partner to Card Risk leadership, aligning agendas on high-impact goals, labor strategy, and budget.
Operational Excellence: Lead horizontal initiatives that uncover efficiencies, prevent duplication, and sharpen our focus on key priorities.
Complex Problem Solving: Tackle intricate business challenges, turning shifting regulatory and consumer demands into strategic advantages.
Influence & Vision: Bridge the gap between strategy and execution, providing clarity and direction to stakeholders across the organization.
Executive Communications: Develop high-stakes presentations and communications that drive decision-making at the executive level.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 7 years of experience in project, process, program, or risk management
At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
At least 2 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree
5+ years of Financial Services risk management experience
5+ years of internal strategy or management consulting experience leading cross functional financial services projects and programs
5+ years of people management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Risk ManagementChicago, IL: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Risk Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
