The Director, Business Transformation is a strategic leadership role involved in driving transformation initiatives within the Transmission organization. Reporting to the VP, Transmission Center of Excellence, this role will lead cross-functional efforts to identify process improvement opportunities, establish key performance indicators, implement innovative solutions, and enhance organizational effectiveness. The Director will serve as a key change agent, aligning transformation efforts with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Leads continuous improvement cohorts and coaches participants in development of capabilities and execution of improvement initiatives. Maintains continuous improvement community of practice. Leads special projects within Transmission at the direction of Transmission President or VP, Business Transformation.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Transformation Leadership

  • Lead the design and execution of transformation strategies aligned with the Transmission CoE vision.
  • Partner with Transmission leaders to identify and prioritize high-impact transformation opportunities.

Process Optimization & Innovation

  • Oversee end-to-end process improvement initiatives across transmission operations.
  • Introduce and scale innovative methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile practices.

Performance Management

  • Develop and monitor KPIs to measure transformation success and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and track performance improvements.

Change Management

  • Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Develop communication and training plans to support transformation initiatives.

Team & Capability Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing transformation team.
  • Coach and mentor staff and stakeholders on continuous improvement tools and techniques.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for transformation efforts.
  • Facilitate leadership workshops and progress report-outs to drive accountability and transparency.

What We're Looking For:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, IT, Industrial Engineer, Operations Management, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in utility industry.
  • Proven track record of engaging in cross-functional transformation efforts in the utility or related industry.

Certifications:

  • PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or other transformation-related certifications preferred.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a complex organizational environment.
  • Innovative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • On-Site in AEP locations: New Albany, OH, Roanoke, VA, Corpus Christi, TX or Tulsa, OK

Compensation Range:

$160,434.00 - $208,565.50
