Responsible for review, reporting, and analysis of Indiana Michigan Power’s financial results, and coordination of short and long-term financial plans, including facilitation of prioritization of operation and maintenance and capital expenditures consistent with company strategy. Coordinates the interfaces with other business units and AEP organization's impacting Indiana Michigan Power results. Directly supports regulatory activities. Economic analysis of alternative solutions to business opportunities. Responsible for reviewing organizational activities to optimize effectiveness and efficiency and make recommendations for improved performance. Responsible for the oversight of the preparation of company’s direct budgets and variance reporting.
What you’ll do:
Essential Job Functions & Tasks
Develop financial plan for Indiana Michigan Power to achieve the goals of the strategic plan.
Responsible for company’s ongoing financial review and analysis and reporting of results relative to financial targets, including net income, return on equity, operation and maintenance expenses, capital expenditures, bond rating metrics, etc.
Coordinate operating company interfaces with Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Commercial Operations, Shared Services, Accounting and other groups, including operating company resource allocation of capital and operation and maintenance resources consistent with Indiana Michigan Power and AEP's strategies.
Directly interface with AEP financial organizations including Financial Planning & Analysis.
Completion of company direct budgets and actual versus budget reporting, including coordination with AEP Utilities organization.
Support regulatory activities, including expert testimony, and financial review and analysis of case filing and business decisions.
Review and approve affiliated company services and billings.
Coordinate and review shared service agreements and budgets.
Review, analyze, and coordinate annual Indiana Michigan Power budget and long-range financial forecast; lead the development and review of quarterly forecast updates, and prepare and report analysis of variances. Coordinate intra-year corrections to spending plans based on operating company and AEP financial and operating performance to date.
Monitor financial results including forecasts, income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, bond rating metrics, and provide insight to company personnel.
Coordinate with the appropriate field personnel and corporate accounting to ensure proper accounting classification of charges.
Ensure Indiana Michigan Power adherence to AEP policies and procedures related to financial activities, including internal controls and audit requirements, Requisitions/Blankets, and Capital and Lease Improvements.
Coordinate and complete economic analyses of alternative business solutions to determine lowest reasonable costs for customers and reasonable returns for shareholders.
Coordinate Indiana Michigan Power’s strategic plan updates and periodic reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education requirements are listed below:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or engineering.
MBA and professional certification in finance or accounting are preferred (i.e. CPA).
Work Experience requirement listed below:
Minimum of 7 years' experience in business management, financial planning and budgeting, or related experience, including experience in supervisory and management capacity.
Regulatory experience with capability to testify as an expert witness preferred.
Other Requirements:
Requires ability to interact with and motivate people at a variety of levels within the context of a matrix reporting structure.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving under pressure.
Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
Adaptability to changing regulatory and market conditions.
Strong demonstrated leadership experience.
Some travel required throughout service territory, to other AEP corporate offices and state commissions.
