The Director of Business Operations and Strategy reports to the McPherson Site Leader and serves as a member of the McPherson Site Leadership Team (SLT). As a Director, you will partner with other leaders to ensure Site goals and key site initiatives are identified and actioned in a timely fashion. Working with a dynamic team of leaders, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing and governing execution of strategies and directing Operational Excellence initiatives to deliver the defined targets. You will be involved in wide range of activities and teams spanning all functional areas of the facility (Operations, Quality, Finance, EHS and others). Your breadth of continuous improvement experience will be leveraged for increasing performance effectiveness and efficiencies through monitoring key performance indicators and coordinating cross-functional work teams.
You will support the site by leading project governance, project reviews, communications, and closing out of various site initiatives. Your innovative ideas and creative decision-making will help shape the strategic direction of our site and help manage performance to key deliverables. Your ability to leverage constructive relationships across the site will help you maximize the resources available within the organization. Your ability to exercise foresight and judgment in initiating, planning, organizing and guiding projects in unprecedented situations will be impactful to the achievement of site goals.

What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
Drive successful governance and completion of site-wide initiatives, on time, and on budget through leadership of the PMO and Operational Excellence
Lead various site strategies to ensure completion of site goals and key initiatives to meet established targets.
Partner with other SLT leaders to identify sources of loss and develop strategies to address them, including CI on all site metrics.
Drive the site Operational Excellence Program by guiding the site OpEx Lead to ensure the SLT follows the established IMEx governance and principles in identifying, prioritizing, and completing our work.
Partner with the site administrative staff who manage the site calendar including site visits, audits, events, to ensure thoughtful decision making, timing and strategy of various events and visits.
Manage the SLT Strategic Agenda and meetings to ensure the right topics are discussed and issues addressed efficiently and on time. Manage the process and prioritization of key topics covered during the various SLT Strategy sessions.
Help manage McPherson participation on various T4/network teams and initiatives, ensuring resources are identified and timelines are tracked and met.
Partner with Operating Unit Leadership to ensure requests are addressed accurately, on time, and by the correct subject matter expert.
Drive strategy for McPherson Early Talent program
Partner and network with leaders at other sites in the PGS network to identify best practices, leverage experiences and help our site improve.
The incumbent will work with considerable autonomy; planning and prioritizing effectively while working across departments within the site.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
BA/BS with at least 8 years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 7 years of experience or PhD/JD with at least 5 years of experience
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Proficiency in data analysis coupled with logical and creative thinking
Demonstrated strong people management experience
Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
Experience in strategic planning
Experience in operational excellence
Strong financial acumen and experience with financial valuation models
Proficiency in managing skills and fostering the development of a diverse talent pipeline
Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated strategic leadership, management and technical capabilities, track record for developing strong leaders, demonstrated change management skills, and a commitment to mutual accountability.
Strong knowledge of GMPs (US & EU), OSHA, ISO, and other regulatory agency standards and requirements applicable to Engineering within a pharmaceutical production facility.
Strong interpersonal, communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) are a must.
Understanding of a broad variety of project management practices, such as, but not excluded to, product transfers, conceptual design, project cost assembly, project schedule assembly, commissioning, and qualification, etc.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
