The Director Business Operations is responsible for managing all aspects of GIEEE's business operations, including finance, budgeting, administration, audit and compliance, in accordance with the performance standards and policies and procedures set by IEEE/ GIEEE Board. The Director Business Operations provides organization-wide oversight and strategic thought on all finance and operations. This position reports to the Country Head & Sr Director India Operations. The incumbent is specifically accountable for the goal-based success of their particular area of management. The incumbent works to ensure an empowered, talented, motivated, and professional staff team. This role benefits from strong change management and communications skills to successfullyachieve scalable impact.Oversees a regulatory-compliant across all areas, including human resources, employment practices, risk management, financial planning, forecasting, and financial reporting.Oversees a financially disciplined operation for GIEEE that properly aligns with IEEE corporate financial standardsOversees a balanced and disciplined risk management program that examines risk on a continuous basis and takes measured, appropriate actions in response to findings. Leads a high-performing, integrated staff operation that provides the full range of services to internal and external customersBusiness operations and risk management: The incumbent directs the daily operations of GIEEE Directs all aspects of business operations, ranging from budgeting and financial management to regulatory compliance and risk management, and provides a suite of centralized services for operational efficiencies including logistics, event planning, awards, sponsorships and inventory tracking. Incumbent may also serve as deputy to Management Council representative.• Human capital management: Manages professional staff of the India Operations team. Ensures the staff works toward the accomplishment of the IEEE strategic goals, as well as their individual performance and incentive goals. Is active in the identification of staff needs, as well as the components of the hiring process, such as resume review, applicant selection, and interviewing. Evaluates performance twice yearly, and puts performance improvement plans in place, as needed. Alliance Management Systems: Oversight of staff who support programs and groups working directly with clients. Serves as the relationship manager between GIEEE & Sections. Attends Board meetings, handles review and updates of all legal documents in an effort to maintain arm's length relationships. Volunteer relationship management Build and sustain strong relationship with IEEE VolunteersManage the external audit procedures for the GIEEE, and follow up on any recommendations resulting from audits•Establish and monitor effective procurement procedures in order to achieve financial efficiencies, including overseeing the tendering process•Oversee GIEEE’s commercial contracts. Prepares a wide variety of materials (e.g. annual budgets, financial statements, and reports for the Board, Executive Director, and department administrators, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, and providing supporting materials for requested actions. •Presents information (e.g. budget overviews, accounting processes, distribution formulas, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information, gaining feedback, and ensuring adherence to established internal controls.• Researches financial topics and related legal issues (e.g. discrepancies, current legislative trends, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating compliance requirements and potential implications on organizational operation
Bachelors or Masters Degree or equivalent in Business or Finance related field. Demonstrates a solid knowledge of business philosophies, trends, and competitive positioning relevant to the operation of a successful organization
