ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director, Business Insights serves as a senior leader within the Business Insights department, driving Welltower’s continued evolution into an insights-driven organization. This role is responsible for team leadership, scaling enterprise data capabilities, and assisting with the strategic direction for business intelligence, advanced analytics, and data governance across the organization.

The Director provides senior leadership on highly complex, cross-border initiatives, integrates data across ERP, CRM, and other enterprise platforms, and ensures best-in-class data governance, compliance, and scalability. This position acts as a strategic partner to executive leadership and serves as a key decision-maker in shaping enterprise data and analytics strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop a team of analysts to deliver scalable enterprise data and analytics solutions.
  • Partner with executive leadership across Corporate Finance, IT, Accounting, Portfolio Management, and US/Canadian business teams to define and execute enterprise data strategy and architecture.
  • Set vision and oversee development of advanced analytics and predictive modeling capabilities to support underwriting, asset management, capital allocation, and investment strategies.
  • Direct and govern enterprise-wide data integration and transformation initiatives, including ERP, CRM, and cross-border data consolidation across U.S. and Canada.
  • Establish and enforce enterprise data governance, quality, security, and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior executives, translating complex data insights into actionable business strategies and investment decisions.
  • Drive standardization and scalability of reporting, analytics platforms, and data infrastructure across all business units.
  • Oversee enterprise performance measurement frameworks, delivering executive-level reporting, insights, and forward-looking strategic recommendations.

COMPETENCIES

  • Expert-level understanding of ERP, CRM, enterprise data architecture, and cross-border data integration frameworks.
  • Deep technical proficiency in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), ETL platforms (Informatica, Alteryx), and enterprise data warehousing at scale.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale enterprise and post-merger data transformations across multiple geographies.
  • Exceptional executive communication and influencing skills, with proven ability to engage and advise C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic mindset with experience aligning data and analytics capabilities to enterprise growth, capital allocation, and operational efficiency goals.
  • Experience operating in multinational environments, with familiarity in U.S. and Canadian regulatory and data compliance considerations preferred.

TRAVEL

Some out-of-area and overnight travel, including international travel between U.S. and Canada, may be expected.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 12–15+ years of related work experience in business intelligence, enterprise data strategy, ERP/CRM integration, and data warehousing.
  • At least 5–7+ years in senior leadership roles managing managers, senior managers, and large multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience partnering with executive leadership and driving enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
  • Strong background in finance, real estate, or healthcare industries preferred.

Education

  • MBA or MS in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Statistics required.
