Job Description

Director – Business Development, Japan
Location: Tokyo

You will lead client development and relationship management for a global consulting firm which advises Japanese and international corporations on their business and investment decisions in Japan.

The role combines strengthening existing relationships, winning new business, and ensuring past clients remain engaged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business generation through targeted outreach, meetings, and campaigns.
  • Manage key client accounts and ensure consistent, high-quality engagement.
  • Design and execute initiatives to deepen market reach and develop long-lasting relationships.
  • Represent the firm externally at events, industry roundtables, etc.

Requirements

  • Proven success in client-facing business development.
  • Track record in winning, growing, and managing client relationships.
  • Experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, law, or similar.
  • Fluency in English; Japanese language skills preferred but not essential – an understanding of Japanese business culture is most important.
