Job Description

Director, Business Development – Retail Network Services (RNS)

Location: Greater Detroit Area preferred (Open to major US markets with travel)

Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive base with a high-upside, variable commission structure

About Helm

At Helm, we connect major brands to their customers through innovative marketing, technology, and retail network solutions. As we continue to scale our Retail Network Services (RNS) division, we are looking for a high-performing, entrepreneurial sales leader to drive top-line revenue growth, capture new market share, and expand our footprint across the automotive aftermarket and OEM landscape.

The Role

We are seeking a hunter. As the Director/VP of Business Development for RNS, you will be the driving force behind acquiring new clients and expanding Helm’s market presence. You will leverage your existing deep-rooted relationships within automotive Parts & Service divisions to pitch, negotiate, and close high-value consulting and network service agreements.

This role is ideal for a self-motivated champion who thrives in a high-autonomy environment and prefers a compensation structure heavily weighted toward performance and variable upside.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Top-Line Growth: Aggressively prospect and secure new client partnerships specifically within the retail network services sector.
  • Pipeline Management: Build, maintain, and rigorously manage a robust pipeline of high-value enterprise targets.
  • Risk & Reward Assessment: Evaluate and articulate the risk/reward profile for each prospective client deal during the sales lifecycle, ensuring profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Insights & Relationships: Convert deep industry insights and your existing Rolodex of automotive contacts into actionable business opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales and account leaders across Helm to identify, package, and execute strategic cross-selling initiatives.

Requirements

What You Bring (Must Haves)

  • Automotive Aftermarket Expertise: Proven track record of successfully selling consulting services specifically within the automotive aftermarket space.
  • Established OEM Network: A ready-to-leverage network of established relationships with decision-makers at non-Stellantis OEMs (specifically within Parts & Service).
  • Location & Travel: Based in the Greater Detroit area or a major metropolitan market, with the willingness and ability to travel frequently to meet clients and close deals.
  • The "Hunter" Mindset: You are highly motivated by variable compensation. You prefer a structure where your earning potential is directly tied to the revenue you generate.

Why Helm?

  • The opportunity to own and scale a critical business unit.
  • A culture that rewards autonomy, grit, and measurable results.
  • Comprehensive benefits package alongside an aggressive commission structure designed for top earners.
