Job Overview

Director Business development will lead the growth strategy of the network in line with the vision of The Board i.e. consolidation of existing operations and measured expansion into new areas. The immediate focus shall remain on rationalising and re-locating already over capacity or nearing capacity campuses to purpose build facilities, enabling sustained growth and enhance operational efficiency. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and closing the business opportunities, while ensuring alignment to organisation's educational and financial objectives. Once projects are contracted their design and execution will transition to The Design and Construction Department.

Major Responsibilities:

Strategic planning:

1. Formulate and execute a consolidation strategy for relocation or upgradation of existing campuses operating at or beyond optimal capacity.
2. Conduct comprehensive feasibility analyses taking into account the demographics, financial and infrastructural factors.

Business Development & Contract Finalization:

1. Identify and negotiate opportunities/business deals (for new purpose-built campuses) in line with strategic planning.
2. Lead commercial discussions and finalize agreements (land purchase, lease, joint ventures etc) on behalf of the organisation, ensuring alignment with stated objectives and financial prudence in every deal.
3. Liaise with the D&C Department for design and drawings etc, where it is required to be made part of the agreement

Inter Departmental Coordination:

1. Collaborate and coordinate with all concerned departments including, but not limited to, Finance, operations, D&C and legal.
2. Act as Central Liaison for all stakeholders in all relocation and new geographical expansions
3. Foster and maintain strong liaison with realtors, land owners, developers and regulatory authorities.

Monitoring and Reporting:

1. Develop and present regular progress updates and outcome of ongoing process to the CEO and The Board or designated authorities for timely and educated decision making.
2. Establish measurable KPIs to track the success and sustainability of each project.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Management or related field from a reputable institution

1. Strategic vision, foresight and commercial insight.
2. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
3. Analytical acumen, strong judgement and decision making.
4. Ability to lead inter departmental collaboration.
5. Maintain confidentiality in business dealings.

Experience. 15 -20 years of progressive experience in Business Development, corporate expansion or relevant field.
