What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop and execute winning strategies for Japan-based medical OEMs by leveraging deep understanding of Japan’s geopolitical landscape, regulatory environment, and customer business strategies. Align these strategies with Flex’s capabilities across design, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Leverage strong industry network and relationships with major Japan medical equipment OEMs to build credibility, create access at senior levels, and develop a robust and actionable business pipeline that supports near- and long-term growth objectives.
  • Drive customer engagement and solution development by working cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to craft compelling, differentiated value propositions and proposals tailored to customer needs.
  • Lead business case development and quotation strategy, ensuring competitive, financially sound, and scalable solutions that align with segment profitability and long-term growth targets.
  • Own and lead contract negotiations for strategic deals, partnering with internal stakeholders to secure favorable commercial terms while balancing customer expectations and company interests.
  • Establish and maintain senior-level relationships both externally with customers and internally across Flex leadership to enable effective decision-making, alignment, and successful deal closure.
  • Provide leadership in business planning and execution, including defining market penetration strategies, identifying target opportunities, and guiding internal teams to support successful program wins.
  • Lead cross-functional project execution from opportunity development through deal closure, coordinating teams to meet timelines, budgets, and performance objectives.
  • Ensure successful transition from business win to execution, working closely with Global Account Management and as needed, Operations and Supply Chain teams to deliver on customer expectations and drive high levels of customer satisfaction.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • BS degree in engineering or other technical field preferred.
  • 7-10 years of demonstrated experience in a sales role related to medical technology innovation or manufacturing, or medical/pharmaceutical consumables.
  • Understand regulatory requirements in the manufacturing of medical products as it relates to the CFDA, FDA, EU-Medical Device Regulations etc.
  • Able to work independently to establish priorities, multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Able to effectively communicate progress and success to stakeholders in a compelling, creative, and accessible way
  • Responsible for development & deployment for automation project or automatic product via systematic tool
  • Native Japanese, fluent oral and written English
