The Bar Director is responsible for overseeing and elevating multiple bar programs across venues, ensuring exceptional product quality, strategic sourcing, and the continued development of innovative cocktail programs. This role will drive consistency and excellence across all locations while maintaining strong guest relationships, overseeing inventory and financial performance, leading training initiatives, and contributing to high-level promotional and brand strategy decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Oversee and direct multiple bar programs across venues, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with brand standards
  • Lead and mentor Bar Managers and bar teams, providing guidance on operations, staff development, and performance management
  • Ensure quality of product, sourcing strategy, and vendor partnerships across all locations
  • Drive Research and Development initiatives for cocktail programs, seasonal menus, offsite projects, and new venue concepts
  • Oversee menu design and beverage program development, including cocktail creation and program innovation
  • Ensure all recipes and program standards are consistently updated and maintained across venues
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of cocktail menu templates in Misebox across all locations
  • Lead company-wide efforts for cocktail innovation and program development
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with purveyors and key industry partners
  • Maintain high-level guest engagement, fostering relationships with VIPs and key clientele across venues
  • Oversee training and development programs for all bar staff in coordination with venue leadership and People Practices
  • Ensure execution of the full Cycle of Service across all venues, maintaining elevated service standards through leadership teams
  • Oversee product sourcing, ordering processes, and cost controls across all bar programs
  • Lead the development of comprehensive beverage training materials and standards for all locations
  • Approve Beverage & Foodager purchase orders and oversee invoice processes across venues
  • Oversee inventory management systems, including tracking, reporting, and alignment with sales performance
  • Attend and contribute to executive-level meetings including weekly management, Food & Beverage, pre-convention, B.E.O. reviews, and marketing strategy sessions
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and People Practices to lead recruitment, interviewing, and succession planning for bar leadership roles
  • Assist and/or complete additional tasks and strategic initiatives as assigned

EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-volume, cocktail-centric, fine dining environment, with multi-unit leadership experience preferred
  • Proven leadership experience as a Bar Manager, Senior Bar Manager, or Bar Director
  • Strong knowledge of industry critics, awards, and emerging trends within the beverage space
  • Expert knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, with a demonstrated ability to innovate at a high level
  • Comprehensive knowledge of spirits, including production methods, brands, and regional distinctions
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, cost controls, and multi-unit performance metrics
  • Proficient in Windows Microsoft Office, POS systems, Oracle knowledge preferred

  • Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
