Director, Asset Manager Sales, Multi-Asset & Options Indices

S&P Dow Jones Indices is seeking a Director, Asset Manager Sales, Multi-Asset & Options Indices to lead commercial growth across our derivative-based and multi-asset index solutions. This is a senior role within the Sales organization, designed to meet growing client demand for sophisticated index solutions for buy-side clients.

The Director will combine deep technical fluency in derivatives overlays and other options- and income-based strategies with a strong commercial orientation and proven ability to originate, develop, and close complex licensing opportunities. The role will require consultative selling, senior client engagement, structured problem solving, and close collaboration with Product Management, Research & Design, Legal, Finance, and Marketing.

This individual will serve as a senior sales rep, helping clients translate investment, hedging, income, risk management, and product issuance needs into scalable index-based solutions. The role is expected to drive revenue through index licensing, data sales, and strategic commercial development while enhancing S&P DJI’s reputation as a leading provider of innovative index solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for S&P DJI’s options-based and multi-asset index solutions across assigned buy-side clients, with accountability for pipeline development, revenue generation, and long-term franchise growth.
  • Originate and close new business opportunities across index licensing for investment product issuance, index data usage, redistribution, with particular emphasis on solutions tied to derivatives overlays and multi-asset strategies.
  • Serve as a specialist consultative seller for technically complex index solutions, translating client objectives into commercially viable index concepts and clearly articulating methodology, use cases, value proposition, and implementation considerations.
  • Build and deepen relationships with Asset Managers and ETF sponsors. Work collaboratively across the sales team – including Bank Sales, Exchanges, Capital Markets, etc. – to effectively serve the derivative-based ETF ecosystem.
  • Partner closely with Product Management and Research & Design to shape solution development based on market demand, client feedback, and emerging trends in options, volatility, and multi-asset investing.
  • Support the commercialization of new and existing index solutions by helping define market positioning, client targeting, and sales enablement strategy for the multi-asset and options index suite globally.
  • Lead complex commercial discussions and contract negotiations, including usage rights, licensing structures, and commercial terms, in close partnership with Legal, Finance, Product Management, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, including opportunity origination, qualification, solution development, commercial negotiation, contract progression, internal approvals, and coordination of post-sale implementation support.
  • Track and manage client activity through CRM tools, maintain pipeline visibility, and provide accurate forecasting, sales reporting, and market intelligence to leadership.
  • Monitor client usage and evolving market activity to identify expansion opportunities, ensure commercial compliance, and stay ahead of trends affecting demand for index-linked products and data.
  • Act as an internal leader and subject matter resource for the broader Sales organization by mentoring colleagues, sharing best practices, and helping elevate team capability in technically sophisticated index solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or CFA preferred.
  • 10+ years of successful experience in institutional sales, index sales, investment product sales, market data sales, index structuring, derivatives-related sales, or a closely related field within financial services.
  • Demonstrated track record of revenue generation in long-cycle, conceptual, and solutions-oriented sales environments, including complex negotiations and intellectual property or licensing-based commercial models.
  • Strong expertise in options investment strategies, options-based indices, derivatives overlays, and/or multi-asset investment solutions.
  • Strong understanding of client use cases across structured products and ETFs, including how indices are used in investment products, hedging frameworks, and product manufacturing.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a role that requires both technical depth and commercial leadership, including explaining complex index methodologies and strategy concepts to audiences with varying levels of sophistication.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with teams such as Product Management, Research & Design, Marketing, Legal, and Finance to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior external stakeholders and create high-quality client content.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across global teams.
  • Strong strategic mindset, commercial judgment, and relationship management skills, with a hands-on approach to opportunity development and execution.
  • Familiarity with key investment themes including indexing, volatility, factor investing, ESG, and multi-asset solutions is beneficial, particularly where these themes intersect with client demand for customized index-based outcomes.
  • Right to Work Requirements:

This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
