In this high-impact leadership position with visibility across a complex, multi-division global organization you will set the overall technology direction and willbe accountable for enabling the organization to make the most of technology across Stolt Tankers, Stolthaven Terminals, Stolt Tank Containers, Stolt Sea Farm and our corporate functions.

What you will be doing

As Director Architecture, Engineering & AI, you will lead Stolt-Nielsen’s global architecture and engineering function, ensuring scalable, secure and future-ready technology platforms across the business. Working closely with the CIO, executive leadership and divisional stakeholders, you will translate business strategy into technology and AI roadmaps, drive enterprise architecture and governance, and lead the development of the company’s AI strategy and capabilities. You will oversee engineering standards, platform strategies and digital transformation initiatives, while leading a global multidisciplinary team and providing strategic insights on technology investments and portfolio performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise architecture vision and target state across business, information, application, integration and infrastructure layers.
  • Translate business strategy into capability roadmaps.
  • Act as the senior technical voice to the executive team and the board and sustain cross-functional relationships with divisional Digital Leads.
  • Own the enterprise AI strategy and roadmap, provide architectural oversight for AI initiatives across all business units and evaluate AI platforms and vendor solutions.
  • Drive, in conjunction with the Learning & Development team, AI and digital literacy within the organization.
  • Lead the global Architecture & Engineering function; set engineering standards, ways of working and platform vision across cloud, integration, identity, observability and security-by-design.
  • Lead, mentor and grow a multi-disciplinary team across geographies; own third-level technical resolution and structured problem management.
  • Own the EA methodology and the Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) tooling.
  • Own and further develop our portfolio management and project delivery process/methodology and oversee the BT Project Office.

Qualifications

  • Masters in technical, engineering or business discipline.
  • Ten + years of overall business and technology experience with progressive growth in scope and accountability, including senior leadership of multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering teams.
  • Experienced in working for a global and listed company.
  • Track record leading enterprise architecture across business, information, application, integration and infrastructure domains in a complex, multi-division or multi-geography organization.
  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise AI strategies or leading AI digital transformation programs at scale.
  • Hands-on exposure to modern cloud platforms (Azure / AWS / GCP), enterprise integration, identity, data platforms and security architecture; sufficient depth to set direction and challenge vendor positioning.
  • Strategic and conceptual thinker, able to translate business strategy into a coherent multi-year technology roadmap while staying close enough to technology to challenge implementation.
  • Working knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, large language models and AI platform architectures, sufficient to evaluate solutions and guide implementation.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, confident communicating architecture, AI strategy and value to non-technical executives and board-level stakeholders.
