Job Description

This role can be filled in either Johor, Malaysia or Singapore City, Singapore

The Hershey Company’s Supply Chain Director provides leadership, vision and strategy to the APAC supply chain and business, including the development of forward-looking supply chain strategies and building critical capabilities to drive disciplined operational execution and margin expansion. The Director enables profitable business growth and margin expansion through collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations to ensure disciplined execution of supply chain strategies.

As the Supply Chain Director for Hershey's APAC region, you will play a pivotal role in leading and optimizing our end-to-end supply chain processes, including direct accountability for manufacturing operations, delivering people safety, food safety and quality, customer service (case fill rate and on-time delivery), value and employee engagement targets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of at least 15 years in progressively responsible supply chain management roles, demonstrating exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, operational expertise, strong ownership and ownership across a geographically distributed organization, and a focus on market and commercial needs, as well as experience in building organizational and operational capabilities, driving sustainable cost performance while maintaining strong service and quality outcomes.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Strategic and Operational Planning
    • Develop and execute the supply chain aligned with Hershey's global objectives and APAC’s business goals, with a focus on operational discipline, cost efficiency, and margin expansion.
    • Play a lead role in the Integrated Business Management (IBM) process with overall responsibility for the demand, supply, inventory, and material planning activities. Ensure that risk and opportunities are communicated, and resolution plans are in place to achieve the business plan. Implement forecast improvement initiatives for the business.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively address market dynamics and incorporate commercial insights into supply chain planning and innovation (new product introduction) processes.
    • Drive standardization and simplification across the supply chain to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enable more predictable execution.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee and optimize the entire supply chain process, including owned manufacturing, procurement, production planning, logistics, and distribution, ensuring reliable and cost-effective operations aligned with business commitments.
    • Lead manufacturing operations with full accountability for people safety, food quality, production conformance, efficiency, waste, downtime, and financial performance, driving continuous improvement and delivering against margin and cost targets.
    • Implement optimal distribution and transportation strategies based on customer requirements as well as overall business cost drivers. Conduct contract negotiation with 3rd party operators and employ optimal outsourcing arrangements to maximize savings while ensuring required service levels.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and mentor a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement leveraging Hershey Lean Program.
    • Strengthen both functional and leadership capabilities across the organization, ensuring the development of critical skills in planning, manufacturing, and operational excellence.
    • Strengthen people leadership in the manufacturing plant to improve engagement scores and lead with HR and Legal on union negotiation.
    • Drive strong ownership, accountability, and decision-making across a geographically dispersed organization, ensuring effective leadership despite time zone complexity.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing supply chain operations, with a focus on market-specific requirements. Includes applicable laws and regulations on Occupational Safety and Health, Quality, Environmental, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, implementing proactive and disciplined risk management strategies to ensure consistent and reliable operations.
  • Digital Technology and Automation
    • Evaluate and implement digital technology and automation to disrupt and transform operations including enhancing supply chain visibility, efficiency, and cost competitiveness, while building capabilities to sustain and scale improvements.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, with a focus on the food, beverage, or consumer goods industry. Minimum of 7 years of supply chain leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading supply chain functions and manufacturing in complex and dynamic environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Fluency in English is required.
