Job Objective:

Directs outpatient operations to ensure provision of high quality, cost effective medical services. Directs overall clinical, quality, administrative and fiscal aspects of the organization. Provides leadership and oversight of the performance of Clinical Service Practice Managers and or senior level clinical professional staff.

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Business or other related field
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, or other related field

Licensure/Certification:
Preferred: Registered Nurse, Respiratory Care Practitioner or related clinical license

Experience:
Required: Three (3) years of related management experience
Preferred: Healthcare experience; program or site management experience

Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), VP of Ambulatory Services Supervises: Managers, Supervisors and leads, Clinical and non-Clinical Staff Ages of Patients: N/A Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Applies management theory and leadership styles as appropriate to situation, Controls expenditures to within division-wide budgeted amounts, Ensures the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process, Facilitates teamwork and effective flow of ideas, Implements, integrates, and maintains Performance Improvement Program, Provides for professional growth and development of staff, Written and verbal communication skills

Essential Responsibilities

1. Assures that adequate human resources are provided, retained and utilized in an efficient manner to maintain objectives of organization.
2. Prepares annual budget with CAO for area(s) of responsibility and controls operational activities towards accomplishment of divisional efficiency.
3. Coordinates multidisciplinary care delivery.
4. Practices hospital-wide scripts and ensures scripting is being utilized in areas of responsibility.
5. Assures all State and Federal laws are in compliance in areas of responsibility. Assures all JCAHO standards are followed in areas of responsibility.
6. Develops and utilizes mechanisms for directing, evaluating and controlling clinical activities and costs towards accomplishment of divisional effectiveness and efficiency.
7. Rounds in procedural area as position requires.
8. Responds to all patient complaints in a timely fashion with follow-up to resolution. Maintains files on these interactions with cumulative data.
9. Analyzes and interprets data complex data sets and reports, i.e., variance analysis, financial/quality, population specific reports.
10. Develops and updates comprehensive medical management work plans/programs to ensure revenue accuracy.
11. Ensures optimal care delivery via direct observation, concurrent documentation audits and subsequent unit based P.I. initiatives.
12. Coordinates and plans weekly or monthly team meetings as appropriate.
13. Determines qualifications, competence levels and standards of performance.
14. Strategy development with senior staff regarding program expansion, business development and new care models.
15. Focuses on quality improvement, utilization, and reductions of medical costs.
16. Provides leadership to staff, giving direction and guidance to managers and staff as appropriate.
17. Plans budgets organizes and manages the department to accomplish operational and strategic initiatives.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
