The Director, Artificial Intelligencewill lead an AI team supporting the Long TermCare (LTC) program in John Hancock and Manulife This role is accountable for building and scaling AI solutions that improve business processes, generate strategic insights, and enable measurable impact across the organization.
This is a leadership role that requires a strong combination of technical depth, business judgment, people leadership, and delivery excellence The Director will manage a team of AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and technical professionalsresponsible for designing, developing, deploying, andmaintainingproduction-grade AI and machine learning solutions.
The ideal candidate is passionate about AI, a continuous learner, and someone who actively follows the latest trends in AI, GenAI, LLMs, machine learning, data science, software engineering, and cloud technologies The candidate should have strong hands-on experience as an individual contributor in AI or data science and be able to guide teams through complex technical decisions. This includes experience across both traditional predictive analytics, machine learning, and MLOpsas well as newer areas such as GenAI, LLMs, RAG, prompt orchestration, guardrails, LLMOps
The Director will work closely with business, technology, risk, compliance, operations, and executive stakeholders toidentifyopportunities, shape strategy, deliver high-quality AI solutions, and communicate impact in clear business terms.

Salary range is expected to be between
$127,330.00 USD - $236,470.00 USD
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
