Oversee group homes/manage Residential Administrators

OF POSITION: Supervises operation of multiple 24 hour Residentialhomes and/or SLS/ILS through planning, organizing and directing all aspects ofLiving Options services including supervision of participants. Ensuresproper delivery of person-centered, age-appropriate services to participants aswell as compliance with program designs, agencies, local, state and federalregulations; while providing quality in services delivered.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Works with supervisors to ensure the health and safety of participants through the development, implementation and enforcement of standards, guidelines, and services for the participants including lines of responsibility, workloads, and staff supervision.
  • Works with supervisors to ensure the service coordination of designated participants including, but not limited to, intake process; including all associated meetings, contacts, and training sessions. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with participants , participants’ family members, conservators and referral agencies.
  • Oversees quality of each individual who reside in their home to comply with all applicable licensing, agency and other regulatory requirements.
  • Works with supervisors to recruit, recommend for hire, and oversee training and evaluation of designated staff.
  • Develops and monitors budget to ensure fiscal responsibility is met.
  • Monitors the completion of all required personnel documentation and data to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Evaluates staff training needs and establishes training schedules relevant to program design.
  • Communicates with consultants, regional center, family members and other outside entities in order to heighten awareness of organizational goals, objectives and mission.
  • Assists to monitor and implement opportunities for new program development, service delivery, and start-up funding of programs.
  • May be assigned other assignments that may need the Director's expertise, knowledge or ability.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Residential Administrator Certificate issued by State of California, Department of Social Services, and Community Care Licensing.
  • Continuing completion of 40 education hours (CEUs), every two years, as required by Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing to maintain valid administrator certificate inclusive of HIV/AIDS and TB training.
  • Successful completion of the Regional Center Residential Services Orientation.
  • Complete of DSP I & II
  • Maintain valid CPR and First Aid Certifications.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years supervisory experience; or 5 years managerial experience; with 2 years' experience in a licensed residential home setting working with medically fragile individuals with severe/intensive behavior issues. Or equivalent combination of training, experience and education to perform the job successfully.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to properly interpret, implement and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations including Title 22.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Skype)
  • Knowledge of service delivery systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written skills with all levels of staff and the general public.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality pertaining to the work environment.
  • Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and test for tuberculosis [a TB test].
  • Ability to provide assistance with personal care to residents, including ability to transfer an individual who has no weight-bearing skills. Ability to push/pull wheelchair on a variety of terrain.
  • Minimum age requirement of twenty-one.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain fingerprint/abuse index clearance; completion of the Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508).
  • Ability to travel locally. Reliable transportation, proof of valid California driver's license, clean driving record, proper auto insurance, and vehicle registration. Appropriate vehicle for transportation of program participants if program requires.
  • Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations.

Carrying/Lifting: Occasional / Up to 50 lbs.
Standing: Occasional / Up to 3 hours per day.
Sitting: Frequent / Up to 8 hours per day.
Walking: Occasional / Up to 3 hours per day.
Repetitive Motion/Activity: Keyboard activity, telephone use, writing.
Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer monitor and read newsprint.
Travel: A minimum of 30% of time (local travel).
Environmental Exposure: Frequent unpleasant or hazardous working conditions (noise, yelling, heat, dust, bio fluids, etc.).
