Battlefield is a storied franchise renowned for uncompromising combat gameplay and all-out warfare, for over two decades. 100 million players and 5 billion hours played later, Battlefield Studios is defining the future of the first-person shooter with the biggest launch in franchise history with Battlefield 6, and a new era beginning with a new free-to-play universe with Battlefield REDSEC.

United under the banner of Battlefield Studios, 4 world-class teams across Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect have come together to focus on the future of the franchise, a connected Battlefield universe filled with immersive experiences built on our unique DNA.

We are looking for an Engagement Design Director to join us in our mission to create the most entertaining gaming franchise in the world—and to continually raise the bar for both Battlefield and the industry.

You will lead the vision and creation of meta experience for players - from fun and challenging progression systems that inspire players, to elegant economy designs that bring fun in rewards, to social systems that enable players to meet and connect with one another and UX and UI interfaces and designs that enable players to have the best experiences inside our iconic franchise.

This role is ideal for candidates with strong creative skills to push boundaries and create new ones and are able to come up with designs that delight players.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive long-term Direction for Progression, Economy and Social related features in line with overall game vision
  • Communication of vision, design, constraints and concerns for your area
  • Enhance the collaborative process and structure within and outside the team
  • Coach and develop the team members

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience leading game teams and defining player-focused meta systems and design direction in a live service environment.
  • Experience and passion for meta design systems. Ways to keep players entertained across progression, social, and live services.
  • Deep empathy and understanding of player needs and motivations.
  • Demonstrated success in the gaming industry
  • Strong understanding of mass-market player appeal, with the ability to innovate within established genres and expectations
  • A player-first mindset balanced with strong product and business awareness
  • At least one shipped title in a design creative leadership role working in Progression, Economy, and/or Social systems
