Direct Taxes & Compliance Operations Coordinator

This position is responsible for ensuring full tax compliance for Mexico entities, including the accurate calculation, reporting, and payment of income tax, VAT, and other local obligations. The role plays a key part in managing tax processes, supporting VAT refund claims, maintaining proper tax accounting and reconciliations, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal control requirements. Additionally, it provides support in audits, transfer pricing, and business advisory, proactively identifying risks and contributing to efficient, compliant, and high-quality tax operations aligned with business needs.

Responsabilidades

• Manage and oversee tax compliance processes for Mexico entities, including monthly and annual calculations of Income Tax, VAT, and other local taxes.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of federal and local tax payments on a monthly and annual basis.
• Prepare and coordinate statutory tax filings, including ISSIF and Statutory Tax Reports (SIPRED).
• Manage e-accounting compliance, ensuring monthly submissions and proper gathering and maintenance of supporting documentation required by tax authorities.
• Support the implementation of new tools and improvements in SAP, enhancing tax processes and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, proactively identifying potential risks and escalating them to leadership in a timely manner.
• Oversee product tax classification processes, ensuring correct VAT and withholding tax treatment and system updates when required.
• Manage VAT refund applications, tax benefits, and other tax-related incentives, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
• Perform monthly tax reporting activities, including data submissions in COGNOS and other reporting tools.
• Ensure the implementation and adherence to internal controls and standard tax processes.
• Support product tax classification and actively participate in internal and external audit processes.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation and upload of controls into the RCM tool in accordance with assigned responsibilities.
• Support the tax and transfer pricing aspects of intercompany and cross-border transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of the Annual Transfer Pricing Study.
• Support in the preparation and file Local File and Master File documentation in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Identify and assess potential tax risks arising from business operations and support mitigation strategies.
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of electronic accounting, tax returns, and all other compliance obligations.
• Provide support in generating tax analysis, guidance, and support to business areas (Sales, SCM, Service, etc.) as needed.
• Prepare and support documentation for internal and external audits, including audits related to Social Security.
• Responsible for tax account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with accounting records and tax filings.
• Support all tax compliance matters, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of obligations.
• Provide support in responding to requests from Mexican tax authorities, particularly in relation to VAT refund processes.
• Support the preparation of regulatory and statutory reports, including:
• Vulnerable activities and relevant operations reports
• IMMEX compliance reports and submissions
• Official Form 96 (for non-resident shareholders)
• Article 295 CFF – Shareholders and partners reporting
• Any additional reports required by authorities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (mandatory)
• Specialization/Tax Diploma/Master Program on Taxation (mandatory)
• Solid experience (supported) on Direct Taxes – Current and Deferred (mandatory)
• Solid experience on Filling SIPRED and ISSIF (mandatory)
• Different Tax update courses (preferred)
• Internal Control courses (preferred)
• Excel advanced
• ERP (SAP)
• English advanced
