Direct Support Professional - Residential

Salary: $18.00 - $19.17 (per diem/substitute $17.00)

Work Location: Canandaigua, NY

Schedule: Hiring for all hours; weekends; weekdays; day shift; night shift!

Differential: $1.00 pay differential for night shift; $1.00 pay differential weekend shifts!

Responsibilities

  • Provides hands-on assistance, instruction, and training to individuals which will enable them to develop and/or acquire skills in various aspects of daily living which may include communication, social, recreational, and leisure activities, self or personal care, household management, travel, work-related or vocational opportunities, money management, etc. in accordance with an individualized plan of service, and following all safety considerations.
  • Provides training opportunities designed to enhance each person's self-sufficiency in the areas of independent living
  • Promotes agency mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • 18 years old
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent amount of education/and or experience preferred
  • If driving is required, reliable means of transportation, NYS driver's license and safe driving record for 1 full year prior to hire date
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
