What You’ll Do
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Crisis Services, you’ll mentor and coach individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs.

  • Teach daily living skills: personal care, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning

  • Support and encourage positive coping skills

  • Use verbal de-escalation and redirection for safety when needed

  • Follow behavior support plans created by Behavior Analysis professionals
What You Bring

  • 18+ years of age with a high school diploma or GED

  • At least 3 months of direct care experience preferred

  • Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and ability to obtain Class E license if operating an Arc vehicle

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work directly with clients in their homes

  • Strong relationship-building skills and a willingness to learn
Schedule & Training

  • Initial two weeks require weekday, daytime availability for paid training.

  • Full-time and part-time schedules available.

About The Arc of the Ozarks

The Arc of the Ozarks was formed and incorporated as a not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to support individuals with disabilities in directing their own lives as a valued members of the community.

In 1959, a small group of parents recognized the need for services for children with developmental disabilities. A support network was established for these children and their families, resulting in the 1963-64 establishment of The Arc.

Today, The Arc serves individuals with a variety of disabilities. Services include residential, education, training, day habilitation, therapeutic recreation, advocacy, autism services, employment, psychological counseling - generally helping these individuals live, learn and work in our community.

The Arc is affiliated with the Arc of the U.S. and our programs are accredited by CARF.
