We’re hiring compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help individuals with disabilities live more independent, meaningful, and fulfilling lives. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on assistance, emotional support, and community involvement while promoting dignity, respect, and personal choice every day.
DSPs play a vital role in empowering individuals to achieve their goals, build confidence, and participate fully in their communities. If you’re patient, caring, and passionate about making a positive difference, we’d love to hear from you.
DSPs play a foundational role in delivering CSI’s services across the Portland area.
What you will do as a Direct Support Professional (DSP):
Ultimately, the goal is to help the people you support, feel and become as independent as possible, while they live their daily lives. Among other things, you will:
- Support people with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, household routines, and community access.
- Encourage choice, decision-making, and confidence in everyday activities.
- Assist individuals in developing life skills that promote greater independence.
- Build positive, respectful relationships based on dignity and person-centered support.
- Help create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments at home and in the community.
- Promote participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
- Follow and help to implement individualized support plans and document progress.
- Communicate effectively with families, team members, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
- Provide encouragement while respecting each person’s goals, preferences, and abilities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, and actively participate in team meetings and collaborative discussions.
- Comply with all applicable regulations, organizational policies, and procedures related to providing services and support to individuals with disabilities.

QualificationsMinimum qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age
- No experience, don’t worry – we’ll train you!
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
- Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license required for day and swing positions
- Acceptable background check
