Job Description

Oak Hill is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Residential Program Worker (RPW) to provide direct support to individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities. This person will inspire others and make a life changing impact while achieving professional growth and personal fulfillment. Position: Residential Program Worker [Direct Support Professional (DSP), Personal Care Aide (PCA)]
Location(s): Residential Group Homes in the following locations:
• Southington, CT
• Burlington, CT
• Bristol, CT

Pay: $18.50 - $19.40 per hour, dependent on shift
Weekly Schedule: Part-Time Weekend Schedules Available (16 Hours):
Saturdays and Sundays, from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM
Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 PM until 11:00 PM

We are seeking dedicated and energetic individuals who are interested in joining our team at Oak Hill. We have both part-time and full-time positions Direct Support/Personal Care positions available.
This role is ideal for compassionate individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of residents with disabilities. The position offers flexible weekend hours and provides an opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on promoting independence and well-being.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide personal care support including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Support residents with medication administration and vital sign monitoring in accordance with care plans.
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition for residents.
• Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and community integration.
• Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to sanitation standards.
• Document resident progress and incidents accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Foster a respectful, engaging atmosphere that encourages social interaction and independence among residents.
• Assist colleagues and program leaders welcome new staff and supporting training of new hires and existing staff

REQUIREMENTS

• US Work Authorization
• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid Driver’s License
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift and assist individuals as needed
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
• Dependability, ability to maintain good attendance

To Receive Priority, Applicants Should Have:
• Previous experience interacting with Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled population (does not need to be professional experience)
• Previous experience in direct care or nursing services.
• Bonus if within Group Home settings Relevant Certifications – ex: Med. Certification (CT), Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA, Certified Personal Care Aide/PCA, etc.
