For over 60 years, Walker Therapeutic and Educational Programs is a leading non-profit organization providing comprehensive programming in the fields of child welfare, children’s behavioral health, and special education. We proudly serve over 150 communities in MA, with our clients coming from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, who struggle predominantly with anxiety and trauma. These services are offered through; Residential, CBAT, and Intensive Treatment Programs, Special Education Day School, Therapeutic Middle-High School, Out-Patient and In-Home Therapeutic Services.
Walker Therapeutic and Educational Programs is currently looking for full time and part time Direct Care Counselors for the Intensive Treatment Residence on their Needham campus. Direct Care Counselors act as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team in a residential and school program for children with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties. The Counselor will focus on social, recreational, and behavioral needs of children as well as ensure that the physical and emotional needs of children are being met daily.

Essential Functions for this position include:
QualificationsAssociate Degree or equivalent experience, previous experience working in a similar setting and a valid MA driver's license
Preferred: MAPS Certification
If not MAPs certified, must be able to obtain MAPS certification within 6 month of hire date.
