Job Description

The Procurement Director leads the procurement function in executing Group procurement strategy for a business or a group of businesses. Defines and manages commodity strategies and sourcing decisions, while ensuring business supply requirements are satisfied. Ensures procurement procedures are in compliance with government laws and regulations, and management objectives. Must be U.S. Persons.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements procurement strategy plan for site(s); oversees budget, ensuring lowest cost procurement is achieved and delivering on year-over-year purchasing cost reduction targets, while ensuring compliance with government laws and regulations (domestic/international).
  • Oversees procurement cost, supplier quality and supplier delivery for all purchased products and services for assigned site(s). Ensures successful industrialization of the supply chain during new product launch.
  • Defines and manages the procurement strategies and sourcing decisions, including supplier selection, cost/quality/delivery strategies, and supplier quality development (when the commodity is unique to assigned sites), while ensuring the successful management and enhancement of the business's supply chain and ensuring processes are aligned with customer and industry requirements.
  • Supports the integration of acquired businesses or divestments of businesses within assigned area to align with procurement strategy.
  • Reduces overall supply risk though contingency planning and understanding of supplier capabilities, disaster preparedness, and financial health.
  • Develops and improves overall supplier and supply base capabilities; identifies needs and potential suppliers, solicits bids and review bids then selects suppliers.
  • Tracks, forecasts, and manages changing global markets and geo-political environments.
  • Negotiates and awards contracts, approves payments to suppliers while maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Supports continuous improvement activities across the entire supply chain including development and implementation of appropriate measures of performance.
  • Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs.
  • Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.
