Job Description

We seek an experienced Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator to join a not-for-profit, community-based sessional kindergarten located in the heart of Healesville.

Benefits:

  • Pay aligned with VECTEA, including approximately 11 weeks of paid school holidays per year
  • 7.5 hours per week of dedicated planning time
  • A community-connected program with regular excursions and local engagement
  • Funded First Aid training delivered annually on site
  • A stable and experienced team, including long-standing educators of 10–20 years
  • An exceeding-rated service with a strong reputation in the local community
  • Access to professional development through Council, Department and School Readiness Funding
  • A collaborative and supportive team culture with low staff turnover

About the role:

Surrounded by parklands, a creek, bike tracks and community facilities, this is a unique opportunity to work in a setting that actively connects children to their local environment through regular excursions and community engagement. Local schools, supermarkets and shops are all within walking distance.

This is a full-time role across two programs, supporting a play-based approach that is nurturing, engaging and responsive to children's interests and development.

You will work across two mixed-age (3- and 4-year-old) groups, supporting experienced teaching teams to deliver a program aligned with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

One program is well-established with a highly experienced team, while the other offers the opportunity to contribute to a newer team environment. You will support children's learning through observation and documentation, contribute ideas within a collaborative team, and help create a calm, engaging environment where children feel confident to explore and participate.

About you:

You are a Diploma-qualified educator who brings reliability, professionalism and confidence in your communication. You are comfortable using technology to document children's learning and contribute to programming, and you take pride in supporting a calm, engaging learning environment. You are genuinely passionate about early childhood education, work collaboratively as part of a team, and are proactive in contributing ideas and supporting positive outcomes for children.

Requirements:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved)
  • Minimum two years of experience as an Educator, ideally within a sessional kindergarten setting
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Child protection / mandatory reporting training
  • Sound understanding of the NQF, VEYLDF and Child Safe Standards

What to do next

If you are seeking a long-term opportunity within a supportive, high-quality sessional kindergarten and value working as part of a collaborative team, we encourage you to apply.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
