Nurse Anesthetist Required Skills
Technical knowledge:He/ She must have a strong understanding of anesthesia equipment, medications, and procedures. They should be familiar with various types of anesthesia machines, monitors, and their proper usage.
Attention to detail: The role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all equipment is properly prepared, calibrated, and sterilized. They must also closely monitor vital signs and be able to recognize any changes or abnormalities.
Communication skills:He/ She must have effective communication skills to interact with patients, medical professionals, and other members of the healthcare team. They should be able to relay important information accurately and concisely.
Problem-solving ability: Anesthesia procedures can be complex, and unexpected issues can arise. He/ She should have strong problem-solving skills to handle emergencies and make quick decisions under pressure
Teamwork and collaboration:He/ She works closely with Nurse anesthetist/anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, midwifes and other healthcare professionals. They must be able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively to ensure the safety and well-being of the patient.
Required Qualifications
Must hold a valid license and certificate to practice as a Diploma Nurse Anesthetist in Sierra Leone
Completion of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program or equivalent training.
License and Certification as aDiploma Nurse Anesthetists
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in healthcare.
Willing to live and work fulltime in Kono District, Sierra Leone.
