The Dining Coordinator is responsible for providing exemplary dining service to our residents, families and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service. This position is responsible for serving as the primary point of contact in support of or when the Leadership Team is unavailable.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Ensures quality meals are prepared, cooked, and served to residents, families, guests and employees.
2. Provides guidance and support to the dining team including training in new team members and ongoing coaching. Acts as the primary point of contact in support of, or in the absence of the Leadership Team. Assists leader with scheduling issues when call-ins occur.
3. Monitors food and supply inventory levels and ordering.
4. Assists all workers and positions in the dining department; identifies what needs to be done and assists as needed.
5. Ensures the staff maintain a clean and sanitary work area. Complies with state and federal rules and regulations, follows established policies, procedures and practices of the facility.
6. Partners with department leaders to maintain awareness of facility special events and activities to ensure adequate product and labor are available.
7. Provides input on the annual budget for the dining department and operates the work area within this budget.
Dining Coordinator Minimum Required Qualifications:
● High School Graduate or GED
● Certified Food Protection Manager in accordance with MN Department of Health or eligible within 90-days of hire
● Commercial kitchen experience
● Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
● Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
● Certified Dietary Manager in accordance with Minnesota Department of Health
● Food service management experience
● Previous experience in providing food service management in a senior living environment.
● Previous experience in inventory control, food cost analysis, menu planning, event planning.
