The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HVDC Digital Transformation Manager to lead and drive the digital transformation initiatives within our HVDC business unit. This role will be pivotal in shaping our digital strategy, optimizing processes, and fostering innovation to enhance our competitive edge.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and execute the HVDC digital transformation roadmap aligned with Hitachi Energy’s strategic objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and implement innovative digital technologies (IoT, AI/ML, cloud, analytics, digital twins) to enhance product development, execution, asset management, and customer service.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to analyze and re-engineer HVDC business processes for greater efficiency and quality through digital enablement.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and IT to ensure smooth integration and adoption of digital tools and platforms.
  • Manage a portfolio of digital initiatives, including planning, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Foster a culture of digital innovation and continuous improvement through training, workshops, and best‑practice sharing.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities and risks for HVDC digital transformation.
  • Define and track KPI’s to measure impact and ROI, providing regular updates to senior management and acting as a change agent across the organization.



Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
  • 8–10 years of experience in digital transformation, IT consulting, or technology leadership, ideally within energy, industrial, or complex engineering environments.
  • Strong understanding of HVDC technology, power systems, or heavy electrical infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Proven success leading complex digital initiatives from strategy to full implementation and adoption.
  • Deep knowledge of Industrial IoT, AI/ML, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), data analytics, digital twins, and automation.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and modern project management tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
  • Strategic, analytical, and results‑driven mindset; ability to drive cultural change and innovation in large organizations; proficiency in English (Swedish is an advantage) and willingness to travel internationally.
