Role Profile

To lead Telecel Ghana’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation (DT) agenda by driving the integration of telecom and fintech services, enhancing customer experience, digitizing operations, and unlocking new revenue streams through innovative digital and mobile money solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and execute Telecel Ghana’s digital transformation roadmap aligned to growth priorities (data, digital services, and Telecel Cash).

•Transition the business from traditional telco to a digital-first, platform-driven organization.

•Identify and commercialize new digital revenue streams beyond core voice/data.

•Drive Telecel Ghana Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy

•Drive integration between telecom services and Telecel Cash (mobile money platform).

•Lead digitization of financial services (payments, remittances, merchant services, micro-lending, airtime/data bundling via wallet).

•Collaborate with financial institutions, fintechs, and regulators (Bank of Ghana compliance).

•Enhance adoption and performance of *MyTelecel App, USSD (110#), web, and API channels.

•Lead end-to-end customer journey redesign across:

SIM onboarding & KYC
Airtime/data purchase
Mobile money transactions

•Improve digital adoption in underserved and rural segments

•Drive development of new digital products such as:

•Digital lending and savings

•Merchant and SME solutions

•Content and lifestyle services (bundled offers)

•Reduce time-to-market using agile product methodologies.

•Automate backend processes (e.g., onboarding, KYC, customer support, reconciliation).

•Reduce operational costs through digitization of customer interactions and service delivery.

•Improve straight-through processing for transactions.

•Enable data-driven decision-making across commercial and operations teams.

•Drive use of analytics for:

Customer segmentation

Churn prediction

Cross-selling (telco + fintech bundles)

•Support fraud detection and transaction monitoring for Telecel Cash.

•Work with IT to modernize BSS/OSS and mobile money platforms.

•Promote API ecosystem to enable partnerships with fintechs, aggregators, and developers.

•Support migration to cloud-enabled and scalable architectures.

•Build strong partnerships with:

Banks and fintech companies

Merchants and aggregators

Government digital initiatives (e.g., digital ID integration)

•Expand mobile money agent and merchant network digitization.

•Ensure compliance with:

Bank of Ghana (BoG) fintech guidelines

National Communications Authority (NCA) regulations

Data privacy laws

•Oversee digital risk areas: fraud, cybersecurity, and transaction integrity.

•Drive a digital culture transformation across Telecel Ghana.

•Upskill teams on agile, digital product management, and data analytics.

•Lead cross-functional squads (IT, Commercial, Finance, Customer Ops).

Must have Technical / Professional Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field

•8–12 years in telecom, fintech, or digital transformation roles

•Proven track record delivering large-scale transformation initiative

•Have a background providing strategic, analytical and research insights. In addition, you will have a very structured approach in your thinking and communication.

•Experience working in a Digital native, Tech, or Start-up company
