About the role

Mater's Digital Technology & Information team is seeking a Digital Support Specialist to join our Gold Coast based team in a full-time, 12 month maximum-term position based at our Gold Coast Office

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting Mater's continued growth, including major workforce expansion across Mater Hospital Springfield and the Gold Coast. Working within a fast-paced healthcare environment, you'll provide expert technical support, resolve complex IT issues, and help ensure our people have the digital tools they need to deliver exceptional patient care.

Salary range: $46.96 - $51.73 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a Digital Support Specialist, you'll provide advanced technical support while contributing to the ongoing success and improvement of Mater's Digital Service Centre.

In this role, you will:

  • Investigate and resolve complex desktop, application, hardware, and technology-related issues
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support across desktop, audio-visual, telephony, networking, and mobile technologies
  • Deliver support via phone, digital channels, and face-to-face interactions
  • Install, configure, and upgrade IT equipment including computers, printers, AV equipment, and other technology devices
  • Assist with system upgrades, technology deployments, and approved change activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation, knowledge articles, and service records
  • Support IT asset management processes and equipment lifecycle activities
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Digital Support Officers and Service Centre team members
  • Collaborate with specialist technical teams to identify opportunities for service improvement
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call support roster

About you

You are a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems and supporting people in a busy, service-driven environment. You bring strong troubleshooting capability, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support.

You will bring:

  • Certificate II or III in Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
  • ITIL Foundation certification (Version 3 or 4)
  • Minimum four years' experience in a Service Desk, Desktop Support, or IT Support role
  • Experience supporting end users within large and complex organisations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, networking, desktop hardware, and audio-visual technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues across a broad range of technologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support and mentor team members
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and industry certifications (such as A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications) will be highly regarded

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
