We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Content Specialist to help shape how the Gallery tells its stories and connects with audiences online.
You’ll have a strong editorial instinct: able to find the audience hook in a complex subject, shape a clear narrative, and work with copywriters, curators, and other specialists to translate their knowledge into engaging content.
You’ll also be confident using audience and performance data to understand what is working, identify opportunities and continually improve our content across the website and email channels.
You’ll be embedded in the Gallery while also being part of the Content & Channels team at Tātaki Auckland Unlimited – the region’s cultural, events, and destination agency.

We’re looking for a Digital Content Specialist who combines creative flair with technical capability, and who’s motivated by the chance to connect people with art in meaningful ways. When it comes to collaboration, you’ll be a natural, working proactively and confidently with multiple stakeholders and across teams.
You’ll be focused on supporting one of the country’s most significant cultural institutions – Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. Working here means being part of a vibrant, passionate community of curators, artists, writers and art lovers, and gaining unique behind-the-scenes insights into exhibitions, collections, and the art world.
As a Digital Content Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills in digital platforms, content strategy, and analytics while helping shape nationally significant cultural experiences. You’ll be encouraged to bring fresh ideas, experiment with new tools, and develop your expertise through mentoring and collaboration.
The role sits within the Content & Channels team at Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, giving you access to a supportive group of creative colleagues and the scale of a wider organisation that delivers diverse cultural, sporting, and business events across Tāmaki Makaurau.
