About the Role

Hong Kong and Macau are unique crossroads where Western and China digital ecosystems converge, with Hong Kong as a hybrid and Macau leveraging more of the Mainland China ecosystem, including WeChat.

As the Digital Solution Technology and Architecture Manager, you will serve as the Solution Architect for digital projects across the HKMO market. You will focus on designing and implementing solutions within platforms like WhatsApp Business and WeChat (including mini-programs), while also guiding the architecture for broader digital initiatives—spanning Salesforce CRM, POS systems, system integration, and local applications. You will lead technical design, integration patterns, and delivery of robust, scalable, and secure solutions to elevate client experiences and retail operations.

What Impact You Can Create at Chanel

  • Shape Digital Journeys: Design and deliver seamless, omni-channel client journeys integrating CRM, messaging platforms, POS, and local digital applications (e.g., campaign orchestration, client care, booking, after-sales).

  • Drive Integration Excellence: Define and govern integration strategies across WhatsApp, WeChat, Salesforce, and other systems, ensuring data consistency, scalability, and secure operations through APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures.

  • Lead Technical Delivery: Oversee technical design, vendor management, and delivery for digital initiatives, ensuring compliance with architecture and integration standards, and enabling best-in-class eServices.

  • Enable Innovation and Compliance: Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies (e.g., conversational AI, composable commerce), while managing risks, ensuring regulatory compliance (data privacy, cross-border data transfer), and maintaining a technical risk register.

  • Foster Collaboration: Act as the bridge between local business, regional/global technology teams, and external vendors, translating business needs into architectural decisions and supporting local requirements in global platform evolutions.

  • Build Capabilities: Mentor internal and external development teams, ensure knowledge transfer, and contribute to the continuous improvement of architecture governance and technical excellence within Chanel.

You Are Energized By

  • Navigating the intersection of luxury retail and digital transformation, where customer expectations and technology are constantly evolving.

  • Creating frictionless, end-to-end digital experiences for both clients and boutique teams in complex, multicultural environments.

  • Solving intricate technical challenges across multiple platforms and ecosystems, and leading teams through change and innovation.

  • Collaborating with diverse stakeholders and driving alignment between business vision and technology execution.

  • Mentoring and uplifting teams, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical curiosity.

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a senior developer, technical lead, solution architect, or similar role in retail, luxury, or consumer-facing industries.

  • Deep expertise in software architecture, system integration, digital engagement ecosystems (WhatsApp Business, WeChat mini-programs), and CRM (Salesforce).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud services, microservices, APIs, and modern integration paradigms (REST APIs, middleware, event-driven).

  • Experience with POS systems (e.g., Oracle Xstore), retail integration, and real-time digital use cases.

  • Strong background in designing under data privacy and cross-border regulations (PIPL, PDPO, GDPR), especially for China ecosystem.

  • Proficiency in mobile and backend technologies (WXML, JavaScript, Node.js, Java Spring Boot, Python), frameworks (Vue/React, WeChat API), and cloud platforms (Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD).

  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences.

  • Experience in agile project delivery and multi-vendor management.

  • Fluent in English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin is a strong advantage.

  • Preferred: Certifications (TOGAF, Azure, Salesforce Architect), experience in luxury/premium retail, familiarity with conversational AI and Greater Bay Area digital landscape.

At Chanel, we are focused on creating an inclusive culture that nurtures personal growth, contributing to collective progress. We believe the uniqueness of each individual increases the diversity, complementarity, and effectiveness of our teams. We strongly encourage your application, as we value the perspective, experience, and potential you could bring to Chanel.
