Join us at a pivotal moment in our digital transformation journey. As Product Manager for Workday Platform & Extend, you will shape how one of our most important HR platforms creates value across ING. This is a role for someone who loves turning platform capability into real adoption, scalable outcomes, and better experiences for teams and users across the bank.
The team
You will join the Workday Platform & Extend product team, which supports both the GHR Digital People Solutions and GHR Data Management product families through the management of Workday as a platform. The team is responsible for the base Workday platform and includes Workday Extend development capability. It serves areas such as Workday integrations, Extend apps, Kainos Extend apps, and Workday architecture. The team works across product families, which makes this role highly connected, cross-functional, and central to how value is delivered at scale.
You will work in a product-led environment alongside engineering, architecture, and employee journey expertise, helping translate strategy into clear priorities, measurable outcomes, and practical delivery. The team culture is built around collaboration, continuous improvement, strong ownership, and a shared ambition to create secure, reliable, and scalable digital products that make life easier for employees and the business.
Roles and responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the product direction for Workday Platform & Extend and help ensure the platform delivers value in a scalable, reusable, and productized way.
Shaping the vision and OKRs for the Workday Platform & Extend product team, and translating them into clear priorities and outcomes
Prioritising the sprint backlog and day-to-day work, ensuring the team focuses on the highest-value platform opportunities
Leading stakeholder engagement with CoEs, consumers, and partner teams to align demand, ownership, and product decisions.
Driving adoption of Workday Extend as a reusable internal product capability, moving away from one-off solutions such as Excel-based workarounds, tickets, or fragmented tooling.
Ensuring the platform evolves in line with a product-led model, with clear ownership, measurable outcomes, and strong governance.
Overseeing delivery in a regulated enterprise environment, with attention to security, permissions, audit requirements, and controlled deployments
Steering the quarterly business review process for the product team, consolidating performance metrics and maintaining product visibility through Obeya.
Guiding platform and integration choices so Workday can effectively support downstream consumers, including modern integration patterns, APIs, and scalable platform capabilities.
How to succeed
We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.
To succeed in this role, you will:
Create a clear product direction and translate it into strong OKRs, priorities, and measurable business outcomes.
Build trusted relationships across product teams, CoEs, and consumers to align demand, ownership, and delivery.
Balance innovation with security, compliance, auditability, and platform stability in a large regulated environment.
Recognise where reusable platform capabilities can create more value than one-off local solutions, and help teams adopt them.
Lead backlog and delivery decisions with confidence, bringing focus to what matters most for the product and its consumers.
Understand platform integrations, data flows, and emerging technology well enough to make thoughtful, responsible product decisions, including around AI-enabled capabilities.
Experience leading teams is a strong plus.
