Job Description

Digital Product Development Manager work in Digital Product Development chapter. Digital Product Development Manager see their team as their product. While they are technically credible and know the details of what their team work on, their time is spent safeguarding their team's health, and putting them in the best position to succeed. They own the delivery of product commitments with Product Management chapter and are always looking to improve productivity. They will work across the backend (Node.js) and frontend (React) parts of our application. They work in small groups with cross-functional team within Digital Innovation and also coordinate across chapters to accomplish collaborative goals.

• Lead, manage, and develop the Digital Apps Development chapter, fostering a high-performance and collaborative team culture.

• Define, enforce, and continuously improve engineering standards, architecture direction, and code quality practices across the chapter.

• Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical problems and architectural decisions that exceed team-level resolution.

• Remain hands-on in designing, developing, and reviewing code for high-scale web applications, setting the technical bar for the chapter.

• Drive chapter capacity planning, sprint prioritization, and workload allocation to ensure optimal throughput and team well-being.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management on feature scoping and roadmap feasibility, and with Platform & Application Support on release readiness, application stability, and incident escalations.

• Mentor Digital Apps Developer I & II, and contribute to raising the overall technical bar within the chapter.

• Report chapter performance metrics, team health, and delivery insights to the Head of Digital Innovation.

Job Requirements:

• Min Bachelor degree in IT; or holding professional or bootcamp certification; or similar experience.

• Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring software development teams.

• Professional in-depth experience in Node.js, React.js, JavaScript and associated web technologies.

• Advanced understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and code quality practices.

• Practical understanding of OLAP and RDBMS technologies including T-SQL and ETL/ELT data integration.

• Professional experience conducting code reviews and enforcing development standards.

• Comfort working in a highly Agile, intensely iterative software development process.

• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills:

• Able to drive alignment across teams, translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders, and deliver clear leadership-level reporting.
