About the Role

To own the cross-platform portfolio of customer and distribution digital applications and to be the single point of accountability for whether that portfolio matures, is adopted, and delivers measurable business value.

The Lead converts executive and management vision into a coherent, evidence-backed platform strategy and roadmap across all platforms, sets the standards and operating rhythm the Platform Owners work to, and represents the function to the CTO and senior stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategy and Roadmap

  • Lead the formulation of the Digital Platform strategy and roadmap, ensuring delivery of measurable business value.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to align platform initiatives with overall business strategy, priorities, and growth objectives.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and trends that can enhance digital platform capabilities and business competitiveness.

Governance & Planning

  • Define and track clear KPIs and success metrics to ensure continuous value realization and alignment with business outcomes.
  • Manage prioritization of platform features and enhancements by balancing business value, user needs, technical feasibility, and alignment to roadmap.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to support evolving operational and strategic business needs.

User Experience & Adoption

  • Monitor platform performance and usage, ensuring strong focus on usability, scalability, and stability to meet business and customer expectations.
  • Actively engage with direct users of digital platforms to understand their pain points and needs, and translate these insights into inputs for platform roadmap development and prioritization.
  • Partner with the HCD team to translate user insights and pain points into intuitive, user-friendly designs that drive adoption and satisfaction.

Delivery & Execution

  • Act as a subject matter expert to proactively identify risks and potential challenges in digital platform development and implementation, and recommend effective, forward-looking solutions to mitigate them.
  • Ensure what is being delivered is aligned with the overall digital platform roadmap

Requirements:

  • Education – minimum bachelor degree in a relevant field; postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA) advantageous.
  • Experience – minimum 10 years experience, in IT business solution and digital product development. Including 3+ years leading teams; financial services or insurance experience preferred
  • Certifications/licenses – scrum master or scrum product owner certification
  • Special skills – understand agile methodology, design thinking, system development life cycle, platform/product strategy, roadmap prioritisation, adoption analytics and value measurement, stakeholder management, commercial acumen.
